Today we learned the shocking news that Falun Gong practitioners were shot while on the way to initiate legal action against Zeng Qinghong, in what was most likely a premeditated terrorist act directed by those desperate to avoid further lawsuits initiated against them. Falun Gong practitioners in Northern California, U.S.A. planned to hold a press conference on the afternoon of June 29 in front of the Chinese consulate in San Francisco to expose the Chinese ruling Party's extending the violent persecution against Falun Gong practitioners to overseas.
According to different sources, Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai, both powerful figures in the persecution of Falun Gong, were visiting South Africa from June 27 to June 29. On the evening of June 28, Falun Gong practitioners from Australia set out for the Presidential Guest House shortly after getting off the plane when they were shot at. Mr. David Liang was the driver of the car that was attacked, and he was the only person wearing clothing that identified him as a Falun Gong practitioner. Mr. Liang suffered gunshot wounds to both feet. The bones in one foot were shattered. This was the most severe attack against overseas Falun Gong practitioners in the past five years, and the victims believe it was a targeted attack by hired gunmen.
During the past five years in which the Jiang group has brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China, it has already ordered police officers to shoot peaceful and innocent Falun Gong practitioners as they see fit. According to an investigative report by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in February and March 2002, police in Changchun City received a secret order stating they had permission to shoot Falun Gong practitioners on the spot who were seen hanging up banners or distributing flyers. Later, police departments in Liaoning Province and Shandong Province received the same order. In several major cities in northeast China, incidents of Falun Gong practitioners being shot were reported continuously. On March 24, 2002, the police shot Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun in the thigh and caused a severe injury. And now, the Jiang group has apparently gone a step further and hired hit men to shoot Falun Gong practitioners overseas.
First introduced to the public in 1992, more than 100 million people in over 60 countries around the world have practised Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa has brought physical and spiritual health and moral improvement to people around the globe and peace to society, and it has received numerous awards and proclamations from various governments. Jiang's scoundrel regime is the only one in the world that persecutes good people who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.
Bo Xilai has already been served with numerous lawsuits abroad for following Jiang in persecuting Falun Gong. With a guilty conscience, he knows it's impossible to escape justice wherever he goes. It is likely that Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai had hired hit men before they arrived in South Africa, ordering them to stop any Falun Gong practitioners from approaching them to initiate legal action against them.
This violent attack in broad daylight exposes the fact that the Jiang group employs terrorist tactics to eradicate people's belief and conscience. We call on governments and people of conscience around the world to condemn these terrorist acts.
