Practitioners in Germany appealed to the German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer about human rights abuse in China, and asked him to help to bring an end to the persecution taking place in China during his coming visit to China. The following report is the summary of an interview with Falun Gong practitioners conducted by Tianyi, a reporter for Radio Free Asia.
German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer will lead a group of delegates to visit China. Regarding his visit, human rights organisation and a Falun Gong group have contacted the foreign office; they called for the minister to raise the human rights issue during his visit. On July 8th, Falun Gong practitioners in Germany held their activity at the German Foreign Office in Berlin.
Because of the shooting of a Falun Gong practitioner in South Africa in June, Ms Zheng Zhihong, a spokesperson of the group, said that they also called on the minister’s concern about the shooting and hoped that the minister could be aware of the Chinese officials who were deeply implicated with the persecution, and prevent similar things from happening in Germany and other European Countries.
