On July the 6th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in the city of Irkutsk rallied at the State Government compound and held a press conference to expose the Jiang regime’s crime of hiring thugs to shoot practitioners. The practitioners strongly condemned this terrorist act.

The rally began at 11am and ended at 2 pm. During this period, practitioners distributed Falun Gong leaflets to passersby to let them know about the campaign of persecution that has been waged against Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin and his regime for the last five years. Many pedestrians stopped to view posters showing illustrations of torture methods used to persecute practitioners, as well as photos of the South African shooting incident. People took the initiative to sign their names on a petition to show their support for Falun Gong.
Before the rally, practitioners invited the local media to attend a press conference with the message, “Stop the Jiang Regime Exporting State-Run Terrorism! Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice.” As a result, two TV stations and several newspapers came to interview practitioners.
An Irkutsk TV station reported the event as headline news. During the report, a practitioner told the reporter, "We hope that these peaceful appeals will help to stop the Jiang regime’s persecution of Falun Gong." Another practitioner told the reporter how he was kidnapped by Chinese National Security agents three times when he was in China: "They dragged me out of a car and covered my head with a black cloth bag."
Practitioners have launched legal action against Chinese Consul He Guoan. One practitioner called Nadezhda said that the Consul’s conduct is a threat to practitioners. Irkutsk practitioners urged the Russian government to condemn the Jiang regime’s state terrorism and the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
