On the evening of July the 23rd, UK Falun Gong practitioners held candlelit vigils in front of the Chinese Embassy in London and the Chinese Consulates in Manchester and Edinburgh to commemorate fellow Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured to death in Mainland China, and to call upon kind-hearted people to come together to stop this persecution.
Outside the Chinese Embassy, practitioners unfurled big banners that read, ‘Uncompromising Spirit: To commemorate fellow practitioners who have died for their faith’ and ‘Stop the five year persecution of Falun Gong immediately’. Practitioners lit several candles and placed them in a long line along the roadside. The candles flickered in the dark, as if sending out our grief to fellow practitioners who have died for their beliefs. In the candlelight, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts.
Every candle has brought the hearts of Falun Gong practitioners around the world together. The darkness will soon give way to sunlight.
