United States: The Beauty of Falun Dafa Reappears in Cleveland, Ohio During the International Children's Games

From July 30th to August the 1st 2004, the International Children's Games was held in Cleveland, Ohio. Nearly a hundred Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan, Canada, Ohio, New York, Chicago and Washington gathered in Cleveland to display the Falun Gong exercises and wonderful arts performances to tourists from around the world.

During the activities, Falun Gong practitioners kept demonstrating the five sets of exercises and performed arts performances at intervals under the scorching sun. The singing and dancing performances attracted many people in the square. The musical performances displayed the serenity and beauty of practising Falun Gong. Four young practitioners from Canada's Lotus Arts Troupe performed Dai Nationality Dance and Fan Dance, and gained the audience's praise and applause.

At Public Square, Justice Centre Square and in front of the Federal Building, people who practise Falun Gong displayed photos to introduce the worldwide popularity of the practice and details of the five year campaign of genocide waged against Falun Gong practitioners by Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. The photos also portrayed the efforts of practitioners in sixty countries around the world to bring an end to these violations of human rights.

Tourists passing by the squares were touched by such a peaceful and harmonious scene. Some people requested Falun Gong leaflets, whilst others learned the exercises on the spot. A woman from Los Angeles came on two consecutive days to watch the performances and expressed thanks to Falun Gong practitioners. A local man heard about the Jiang Group's persecution of Falun Gong, he was very angry and said, "Such a beautiful thing is even subjected to such persecution. It's incredible! The chief perpetrator of the persecution must be put on trial."

During the International Children's Games, many countries' embassies in the US held a variety of cultural exchange activities. Falun Gong practitioners explained the facts about the persecution to representatives from South Africa, Ireland, Japan, India and Italy. Those who heard the truth all condemned the persecution. A human rights group from a university took the initiative to send a message about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to more people through their Internet site, seeking help from kind people to call for an end to this persecution.

Through Falun Gong practitioners' efforts over the past several years, more and more western people have become familiar with Falun Dafa. When Falun Gong practitioners who wore bright yellow T-shirts with the words, "Falun Dafa", "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong" walked through the streets of Cleveland, many people greeted them and requested leaflets or asked for more information regarding the persecution. A reporter from a local TV station especially videotaped several Falun Gong practitioners in their bright yellow T-shirts.

Teachers and students from the Washington DC Minghui School especially came during their vacation to display the beauty of Falun Dafa to the young people from around the world who participated in the International Children's Games. They wanted to help athletes from China who are the same age as them witness the popularity of Falun Dafa in foreign countries.
