Mr. Meng Jincheng was a 50-year-old practitioner from Zunhua City, Tangshan, Hebei Province. Meng was arrested in November of 2002 while handing out materials that clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Because he was steadfast in his belief, the Zunhua City "610 Office" sent him to the Tangshan City Labour Camp for further persecution. They killed him on July 7, 2003. The details are as follows.
Before he started practising, Meng had many illnesses and he was bedridden. His family was very poor and couldn't afford to send him for medical treatment, and thus took care of him themselves. In 1996, after someone introduced him to Falun Gong, he began practising. A villager would carry him to the practice site; at that time there were about 40 villagers practising Falun Gong. All of his illnesses were cured due to Falun Gong.
However, Jiang Zemin's regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999. To testify to the greatness of Falun Dafa, Meng would walk up and down the streets to tell people his story and clarify the truth to those who had been deceived. Several times, the village secretary, Zhang Dianwu, and the police from the local police station went to his house to harass him and tried to stop him from explaining the facts about the persecution. Later, the Baozi Town Police Station arrested him and sent him to Zunhua Detention Centre. Because he would not renounce his belief in Falun Dafa, they sent him to Hehuakeng Labour Camp in Tangshan City. They killed him the day he arrived. The police told his family of his death, and his family was only allowed to see his body through a window. The police said that they would have to pay 19,000 Yuan (1) if they wanted to take the body back for cremation, but it would be free if the police cremated him. As of this writing, the family has not received Meng's ashes.
