Mr. Fu Jishun, Falun Dafa practitioner from Datong City, Shanxi Province, was repeatedly harassed and persecuted by the local police because he adhered to his belief in Falun Gong. On April 25, 2004, he died from the persecution.
Fu Jishun, aged 63, was a retired employee of the Lingqiu County engineering team in Datong City. He began to practise Falun Dafa in 1998. In the winter of 2000, he went to appeal for Falun Gong in Beijing, where the Tiananmen Square police arrested him. The local Public Security Bureau took him back to his home county and held him in a Detention Centre. He was later sentenced to labour reeducation. Having been tortured, the labour camp rejected him due to his questionable health. Afterwards, because he continued to speak out for Falun Dafa, his home was repeatedly looted and the police from the National Security Brigade repeatedly fined him.
On the night of April 24, 2004, police went to Dafa practitioners' homes to harass them. When they arrived at Fu Jishun's home, he was the only one there, and the police threatened and intimidated him. The next morning when his family returned home, Fu Jishun lay unconscious on the ground. He was sent to the hospital, but the doctor said that nothing could be done for him. On the morning of April 25, 2004, Fi Jishun passed away.
