On September the 11th 2004, Russian Falun Gong practitioners held activities in Nevski in the centre of Saint Petersburg to explain the facts about Falun Gong to the public and to urge the public to help call for an end to worldwide terrorism. Practitioners dressed in white and sat meditating behind candles to commemorate those practitioners who have died due to state-terrorism in China. Practitioners standing behind held banners reading “Falun Gong Practitioners Oppose World Terrorism” and “The world needs ‘Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.’.
Huge crowds gathered to watch the activities and quietly read the banners. Many people stood for a long period of time. While a strong breeze blew the banners held by practitioners, people gathered round to find out more.
