In a letter dated the 27th of September 2004, Mr Bernd Saxe, the Mayor of the German city of Lübeck, responded to an enquiry from a German Falun Gong practitioner that informed him about the brutal campaign of genocide that is being waged against Falun Gong in China.
Mr Saxe thanked the practitioner for their letter and stated that he is “critical of China’s human rights record.” He finished the letter by stating “I have a deep appreciation for your efforts against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and hope that you will soon see an effect and that the prohibition against Falun Gong is lifted.”
In the five years of persecution that people who practise Falun Gong have suffered, voices of support have echoed all over the world and many officials, government representatives and non-governmental organizations have publicly stated their opposition to the human rights abuses against Falun Gong in China, that are being instigated by former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin. As more and more people the world over step forward to condone these crimes against humanity, the persecutors are becoming increasingly scared that the world has seen their evil actions and that they will be brought to justice in a court of law.
