The City of Wichita is one of the largest cities in Kansas and is also a city with a large Chinese population. On October 30th, 2004, the Wichita Asian Association held the 24th Asian Culture Festival at Century II Convention Hall.
The festival had a lot of different programs which attracted many Asians as well as a lot of non-Asian residents. With great interest, people tried foods of different countries and watched cultural performance such as dancing and martial arts.
Kansas practitioners also participated in this festival, and their peaceful appearance and elegant exercise demonstration attracted a large audience. Upon hearing practitioners' introduction to Falun Gong as a traditional Chinese practise based on the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," many stopped to view our posters and requested related materials.

Many people also asked about how to learn the Falun Gong exercises and where to buy books. Two teenagers started to learn the exercises at the site and didn't want to leave. When they heard about the ongoing brutal persecution of practitioners in China, they unanimously condemned it. Some also asked how they could help practitioners who are being persecuted in China.
