Mr. Zhao Zonglu, in his 40s, is a farmer from Dazu County, Chongqing. He made a living making tofu. Mr. Zhao started practising Falun Dafa in late 1998 and his health dramatically improved.
Zhao Zonglu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in November 2000. He was subsequently sentenced to one year of forced labour.
In August 2002, Zhao Zonglu went to Youting Town to distribute factual information about the persecution of Falun Dafa. A person who was not aware of the truth about Falun Dafa reported him to the authorities. Thus, he was again sentenced to three years of forced labour. He is currently still being imprisoned and persecuted in the Xishanping Forced Labour Camp in Chongqing.
All these years, because Zhao Zonglu was repeatedly persecuted and unjustly imprisoned, his wife has had to bear the heavy burden of providing for the family. Zhao's wife does not have any form of employment. She depends on selling miscellaneous goods at her roadside stall to support the family. It is extremely difficult for her. They have three children. The eldest daughter is a disabled child whom the couple had adopted out of pity. This child still needs a lot of care and help with daily activities. The eldest son was admitted to Yuzhou University when the persecution of Falun Dafa just started and he depended entirely on the help of his relatives and friends for four years to help pay for his course fees. The youngest son is still an elementary school student and also needs money for school supplies, etc. The whole family is suffering from the persecution.
It is not uncommon to find many families in the same situation as Zhao Zonglu's family in China as a result of the persecution. Many more families suffer even greater tribulation, due to Jiang Zemin's ruthless persecution of innocent people.
