On a Saturday in November, Falun Gong practitioners met in Glarus Town Hall Square and set up an information booth. They talked to local people about the human rights atrocities that have been perpetrated against people who practise Falun Gong in China over the past five years. Passersby were shocked when they heard that over 1,100 people have lost their lives because they practice this peaceful meditation and exercise system, and because they refuse to renounce their belief in Falun Gong’s guiding principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
Many people signed a petition calling for an end to the genocide against Falun Gong in China, which is to be presented to the Swiss Foreign Minister. The information booth featured flyers about practising Falun Gong, as well as graphic pictures and live demonstrations of the brutal torture methods used to force practitioners in China to renounce their beliefs and betray against their conscience.
