Ms. Gao Deyan was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Longkou City, Shandong Province. She was arrested by police on June 29, 2001. Police tortured her to death and then threw her body in a pond. A farmer found her body 10 days later. Her neighbours recognized her as Gao Deyan and buried her. Police from Longkou City have been withholding the facts about her death.
Since July 20, 1999, the Longkou City "610 Office" and police actively promoted Jiang and his regime's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Recently, lawless officials in Longkou City are still frantically arresting Falun Dafa practitioners. In April 2004, police arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Diao Xihui, his wife Lu Yanna (also a practitioner) and their month-old infant.
In 2001, Falun Dafa practitioner Gao Deyan and her husband Chen Zhaowu were forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. They rented a village house north of Longkou City. On June 28, 2001, the couple went out to look for work, but Ms. Gao did not return home. At midnight on June 29, police stormed into their room, arrested Mr. Chen Zhaowu, detained him and sentenced him to two years in a labour camp.
Ms. Gao came back home without knowing her husband had been arrested, and was arrested by police waiting for her, who then tortured her to death. In order to escape the responsibility, police threw her body into a pond. After more than ten days, her body floated to the surface and was found by a farmer. Ms. Gao's neighbour confirmed her identity, and the farmer soon buried her. Her neighbour did not know what had happened. She discovered that her husband had not come home for some time and mistakenly thought that Mr. Chen Zaowu had killed his wife and escaped.
Before the Spring Festival of 2002, police arrested Ms. Gao's sister Gao Demei, detained her for a month, and extorted a huge sum of money from her. Police Yu Jiejun asked her, "Where is your sister?" Gao Demei replied, "You arrested her." Yu confessed, "Your sister suddenly died."
