Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jun from Dalian City, Liaoning Province was savagely tortured by Jiang Zemin's cohorts for persisting in his belief. He was held at the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp and died in October 2004.
Zhang Jun lived in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. He was a leading technical expert at a foreign investment company and started practising Falun Dafa in 1997. In 2000, a collaborator [former Falun Gong practitioner who gave up his belief after torture and brainwashing] reported Zhang Jun to the police. The police then arrested Zhang Jun. He was illegally sent to the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp where he was tortured beyond belief. He was hung up, otherwise physically tormented, not allowed to sleep, threatened and shocked with electric batons. One of his legs lost its function as a result.
On March 12, 2001, Dalian City Forced Labour Camp set up Division 8, specializing in persecuting male Falun Gong practitioners. On March 19, the guards ordered detained Falun Gong practitioners to be tortured according to government orders. Guards Wang Jun and Zhu led four inmates into Class 3. They stripped practitioners Qu Bin, Qu Fei and Chang Cheng of all their clothes and then beat them with rubber clubs. The authorities gave the inmates sentence reductions in exchange for them torturing the practitioners. They used multiple electric batons to shock the soles of each practitioner's feet, the backs of their knees, their cheeks, mouths and genital areas. The guards found a hand-written Hongyin [Falun Gong book] on practitioner Zhang Jun. They handcuffed him to a heating pipe and shocked him with electric batons. They tried to force him to give up Falun Gong practice, to curse Dafa and Teacher Li and write a "Guarantee Statement," but Zhang Jun refused.
After Zhang Jun was released from the Dalian City Forced Labour Camp, perpetrators from the local "610 Office" and from the Party Committee constantly harassed him, which caused him tremendous stress. Zhang Jun passed away in October 2004.
