On the 15th of January 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners from Europe and all over the world gathered in London to take part in various activities organised to give the people of London a chance to find out about Falun Dafa and the horrific persecution taking place in China.
One such activity was to stage a peaceful appeal across the road from the Chinese Embassy in London. Such an appeal has now being taking place for over two years no matter the weather, twenty-four hours a day. This time the appeal was larger in scale, but with the same purpose, to raise awareness of the persecution that is taking place in China to those passing by, either by car or by foot. As the appeal was staged just across the road from the Chinese Embassy it has a direct affect on those working in the Embassy and shows those responsible for persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners that the world is aware of their villainous crimes.
During the appeal Falun Dafa practitioners practised the Falun Dafa exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. They also took the chance to talk to the police officers on duty about Falun Dafa and the persecution taking place against those who practise it. One of the police officers was a kind hearted Indian man who had not being a police officer for long. After accepting some factual materials about Falun Dafa and having a brief chat with a practitioner, he could clearly understand that the persecution is wrong and both he and the practitioner agreed that is almost unbelievable that a nation would do this to its own people.
During our discussion he commented that “Good will overcome the wicked” and that “Falun Dafa practitioners should remain steadfast rather that adhere to the unlawful persecution.” Whilst talking to the police officer the subject of weather was brought up and he was concerned about the practitioners being cold as they sat outside, commenting that many practitioners didn´t have any gloves on, yet he could feel the cold even with his gloves on. The practitioner commented that the exercises are warming to the body and that it was quite warm opposite the embassy whereas the policeman on duty outside the embassy front door across the road looked extremely cold. The police officer remarked that the practitioners were giving off good energy, which brought warmth to the surrounding area, whereas the Embassy was dark and cold.
Upon meeting such a kindhearted policeman it really makes one think about the horrific acts that those police officers in China conduct upon Falun Dafa practitioners. When one thinks that those police officers are raping, beating, torturing and killing those who wish to live by “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” it brings great sorrow to the heart.
