Zhou Chuanyin, female, forty-one years old, went to Beijing to appeal on July 23, 1999. The police stopped her on the way, and detained her in the local police station for six hours with no reason, then forced her to write the "guarantee". On March 1, 2000, she went to Beijing again and was arrested by the Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing. Shortly after her arrest, she was escorted back by the local police and was detained for three months due to her appeals. The local police extorted RMB 3,000 Yuan from her(Chinese dollar, the average monthly income of urban area is about 500 Yuan) while forcing her to attend the brainwashing class for a total of two months. On October 26, 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal again and was illegally arrested. This time, the local police escorted her back and detained her for fifteen days. On the night of December 18, 2000, without following any legal procedures, the police searched her house, and then illegally detained her for over ten days. She was beaten very badly by the police while they kept her in detention.
Zhou Chuanrong, female, thirty-nine years old, went to Beijing to appeal on October 26, 1999, and was detained for fifteen days. After being released, she was isolated in the brainwashing class for one week. She went to Beijing to appeal again, and was arrested at the appellate office. After being detained for three months, she was illegally confined in the brainwashing class for two months. In December 2000, the police searched her home to obtain any scraps of information, which they hoped to use against her. However, nothing was found in their futile search. They then summoned her to the police department and extorted RMB 3,000 Yuan from her before finally releasing her due to lack of evidence.
Xu Chengchu, male, sixty six years old, was illegally detained three times: the first time lasted from March 18 through June 18, 2000 (three months); the second time was from December 1 through December 18, 2000 (eighteen days); the third time was from June 28 through October 27, 2001 (four months). During these periods, all of his family members including his wife, his son and himself were detained for no reason and had RMB 9,000 Yuan extorted from them.
Xu Zhijun, male, thirty-three years old, was arrested when opening the Falun Dafa banner in Tiananmen Square on March 3, 2000. In the interrogation, the police beat him fiercely, and handcuffed him. After being sent back to Weihe, he was badly beaten by Su Jianji in the interrogation. On April 19, he was illegally sent to the Yimianpo Forced Labour Camp, and was expelled from CPC. On December 18, 2000, the police illegally search his house, and detained him in the Weilin Detention Centre until January 8, 2001. He was forced to pay a bail of RMB 3,000 Yuan. On June 28, 2001, the police searched his house again, and kept him in confinement in the Weilin Detention Centre until October 25.
Li Xiumei, female, 38 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on October 26, 1999. She was escorted back, and was detained in the detention centre of the Weilin Forestry Bureau for fifteen days. On June 28, 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal again, then was detained in the detention centre of Weilin Forestry Bureau for six months. She went on a hunger strike for eight days, and was forcibly injected with drugs. She was released shortly after. Cong Peiyi, from the Weilin Forestry Bureau extorted RMB 1, 000 Yuan as bail from her and confiscated her ID card. At 1 AM on June 28, 2001, the police searched her house and took her to the police department. Because of lack of evidence, they released her. Her family was suffering greatly from the persecution.
Li Xuanhui, female, was arrested in July 2001 when speaking out the truth. The perpetrator Zhang Wangshen (the nephew of Zhang Zhenxue, the CPC secretary of the Weihe Forestry Bureau) along with four other persons tortured and beat her badly for a very long time. Hanging her by her hands, they shocked and beat her with an electric baton, then poured cold water on her after she lay unconscious. She was tortured beyond recognition. Eventually she was sentenced to one year and half in a forced labour camp, and sent into the Harbin Drug Rehab centre [these centres have been converted to hold Dafa practitioners often mixted with the real drug addict inmates]. They confiscated her cell phone, pager, and the 610 office of the Weihe Police department extorted RMB 3,000 Yuan from her.
Zhang Xiuqing, female, forty-five years old, went to Beijing to appeal on October 26, 1999, and was detained for half a month. After being released, she was forced into the brainwashing class and was not allowed to go home for another half a month. On March 1, 2000, she went to Beijing again to appeal, and was escorted back to Weilin Detention Centre where she was detained (due to her appealing to the government) for three months before being released. During this period, Cong Peiyi, from the Weilin's CPC committee extorted RMB 3,000 Yuan from her.
Chen Yanliang, female, sixty-two years old, was arrested three times at home. The police forcefully took her away, and detained her forty days on the first time, twenty days on the second time, and one hundred days on the third time. It has caused her serious mental suffering. During the period Sun Yongfu, from the Police department of the Weilin Forestry Bureau extorted RMB 1,000 Yuan from her, and the 610 office extorted an additional RMB 3,000 Yuan from her as so called "bail".
Yue Shulan, female, sixty-two years old went to Tiananmen for the Fa-rectification. While there, the police illegally arrested her and detained her in Weilin Detention Centre. Three months later, the sub-district office illegally detained her for three months and extorted RMB 460 Yuan from her as a food fee. Sun Yongfu extorted RMB 800 Yuan from her. On June 28, 2001, she was arrested while sleeping at home. The police department detained her for roughly four months before she was released on Oct.25. During the time she was detained, Zhang Zhenxue, the CPC secretary of Weilin Forestry Bureau, Cong Peiyi, the head of the 610 office of the Weilin Forestry Bureau, extorted RMB 3,000 Yuan from her.
Lu Gaojun, male, thirty-six years old, was arrested on October 26, 1999 while going to Beijing to appeal. After being detained for fifteen days in the Weilin Detention Centre, his workplace attempted to brainwash him for a week before finally releasing him. He was also expelled from the xx party. On March 1, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal a second time, and was again arrested. After his arrest, he was sent into the Yimianpo Forced Labour Camp, and was fired by his workplace. In December 2000, police arrested him while they unlawfully conducted a search of his home. On January 17, 2000 he was sent into the Yimianpo Forced Labour Camp again without any formal or legal sentence.
Su Yan, female, forty-eight years old, went to Beijing to appeal on July 23, 1999, and was stopped in Shenyang. The local police department there detained her for six hours for no reason. When she went to Beijing to appeal again on March 1, 2000, the Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing arrested her and beat her badly. After being escorted back to the local police department, she was detained there for three months in the absence of any legal procedure. The police in this department didn't release her until she paid RMB 3000 Yuan on the due day. Soon afterward, her workplace confined her in the brainwashing class for two months. On December 18, 2000, local police again searched her home without any cause.
He Ping, male, forty-nine years old, went to Beijing to appeal on July 23, 1999, and was stopped along the way. The local police detained him for six hours. On December 18, 2000, the police illegally searched his house without any just reason. After he was sent back from appealing, his workplace forced him to attend a brainwashing class. If he refused, they would freeze his wages. Keeping a close watch on him, they also confiscated his ID card.
