United Kingdom: Continuing to Promote Falun Gong and Expose the Persecution in Central London

On Saturday 22nd January, practitioners gathered around St. Martin’s Place in central London to promote Falun Gong and expose the persecution against the practice in China. These activities were a continuation of the European practitioners’ large-scale activities in London on the previous weekend, when several hundred practitioners from nearly 20 European countries came to join in the events.

This event lasted from 11:30 in the morning till 5:30 in the afternoon. At busy St Martin’s Place, practitioners set up various banners, stands for signing petitions and poster exhibits to expose the persecution and promote Falun Gong. Meanwhile, a demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises was continually taking place. As a result passers-by going in different directions were attracted to stop and look. Many people talked with practitioners and took leaflets to find out more. Those who learned the truth signed their names one after another on a petition calling for Jiang Zemin, the instigator of the persecution, to be brought to justice in a court of law.

Our activities were taking place only a few feet away from London’s Chinatown and many Chinese people came to ask for leaflets or Video-CDs. It didn’t take long before the Chinese VCDs that we prepared were all gone.

After receiving a leaflet, a tourist from Vancouver, Canada told us emotionally, “Ah, Falun Gong. I know about Falun Gong. There are also many practitioners in Canada. They often petition in front of the Chinese Embassy. Hang in there, the persecution will definitely stop. You will succeed for sure. I support you!”
