Filled With Anguish for Her Persecuted Daughter, 82 Year Old Ms. Li Xiuying from Hebei Province, Died in 2001

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiuying went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa with her daughter, where she was arrested and tortured. She died in 2001.

Ms. Li Xiuying was 82 years old and lived in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She used to have multiple diseases, which were all cured since practising Falun Dafa beginning in 1997. When the persecution against Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, she went with her daughter to Beijing to appeal. They were arrested in Beijing, interrogated, and sent back to Baoding City, Hebei Province, the very same night. At 3 p.m. on the afternoon of July 24, 1999, armed police surrounded them. Four policemen dragged her into a police vehicle and sent them back to the police station in Shalingzi Town, Zhangjiakou City.

In Shalingzi Town, police forced the practitioners to watch videos slandering Falun Dafa. Later Ms. Li Xiuying was locked up in a brainwashing class. Police tried to force her to give up her practice of Falun Dafa. They forced her to stand on her feet for a very long time. After releasing Ms. Li and letting her go home, her daughter was repeatedly arrested, detained, and harassed because she continued to appeal for Falun Dafa. Ms. Ms. Li Xiuying was so worried for her daughter that she became sick and died on October 9, 2001.
