Falun Dafa Practitioners Mr. Wang Shiming and Ms. Wang Lanfen from Dalian City Are on Hunger Strike and In Critical Condition

On the evening of January 13, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Lanfen and Mr. Wang Shiming, from Dalian City went out to clarify the truth. They were reported, arrested and taken to the police station by three police officers and three security guards. The director of the police station sent them to the Detention Centre in Dalian City that same day. To protest the persecution, they have been on a hunger strike, without water, since their arrival more than 15 days ago. Their families went to the police station to request their release, but were told that this case has nothing to do with them. Policemen even shouted at them, "Go talk to Jiang Zemin, we don't care if their lives are in danger."

Ms. Wang Lanfen went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa twice and has been mistreated four times. She has spent the greater part of the past five years in detention centres or labour camps. Before cultivating Falun Dafa, she had many diseases; the most severe one was leukemia. She was fortunate to start cultivating Dafa as she was dying, and is now very healthy.

This is the sixth time Mr. Wang Shiming has been arrested. He had just been released from the Dalian Labour Camp two months earlier. His older sister is still detained in the Masanjia Labour Camp. His mother is also a cultivator, and became destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home a long time ago. They all live in poverty.
