Saturday the 26th of February began as a nice, sunny day so practitioners of Falun Gong took advantage of the good weather to visit Pezinok city and hold an activity on Radnicne Square. They called for public attention to the persecution against Falun Gong, which has continued for almost six years. Documented evidence details the killing of 1,379 practitioners, although Chinese Government estimates put the unofficial figure close to 10,000.
The Pezinok people were interested and wanted to find out more about both the Falun Gong practice and the brutal human rights violations happening in China. They asked a lot of questions and signed their names on a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
The Mayor of the city, Mr. Oliver Solga, personally visited the appeal to sign the petition and ask the practitioners how they were doing. He expressed his wish to welcome Falun Gong appeals in other busier locations in the city where even more people could get a chance to find out what is happening to practitioners in China.
In the evening there was a Far East Film Festival in Pezinok, which the practitioners visited to demonstrate the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and raise awareness of the persecution.
