Chinese Authorities Value a Criminal’s Life, but not the Life of an Innocent Practitioner

Fusong County in Jilin Province is located in the Changbai Mountains. Practitioners in the past months here have made a lot of effort to clarify the truth. Falun Dafa banners were flying in the trees on the mountains, truth-clarifying materials were sent to all the offices of major directors of the County Party Committee, truth-clarifying flyers were hung up on many police vehicles and posters were displayed on huge rocks and electric wire poles. Truth-clarifying newsletters, banners, posters, cassettes about the truth of Falun Dafa and VCDs telling the truth about the self-immolation incident were sent to the county; truth-clarifying materials were distributed to towns, townships and villages. Practitioners have effectively and thoroughly clarified the truth and informed people in many different ways.

The County Political and Judiciary Committee, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary systems] and the County Police Department held an emergency meeting in the beginning of November. Since then, a hired thug followed one of our practitioners. On November 10 and 11, our truth-clarifying material preparation site was destroyed; the copier, computer, truth-clarifying materials, and copy paper were all confiscated. Five practitioners were arrested and their family members were not allowed to visit them after more than 20 days of detention.

The lawless police at the Fusong County Detention Centre brutally torture Dafa practitioners. Police enforcers said, "We have to be responsible if a common criminal is abused to death, but not for a Falun Gong practitioner. All deaths of practitioners will be treated as if they had committed suicide."

These same police officers at this Fusong County Detention Centre cuffed practitioner Wang Liqin, an employee of Fusong Town's Chinese Medical Hospital, to a "Dead Person's Bed" [the four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment can last from several hours up to more than twelve days. This type of cruel torture severely damages a practitioner, both mentally and physically]. They covered Songjianghe Town practitioner Wang Yongjun's head with plastic bags so that Wang could not breathe. In the month before last Chinese New Year, they pushed more than 10 practitioners outside, including Yu Fenghua, Sun Shiling, Meng Qingfen and Ren Jun, and kept them outside in the freezing winter weather for more than 3 hours.

We urgently call all kind-hearted people in the world to pay attention to these matters, to stop the terrorism by Jiang Zemin's regime against Falun Dafa and its practitioners as soon as possible.
