Ms. Yue Shunjiao, 64, was a Falun Gong practitioner living in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Officials operating outside the law had placed her under surveillance and continually harassed her because she steadfastly believed in Falun Dafa. On November 19, 2004, Ms. Yue died as a result of this persecution.
From April through September 2000, Ms. Yue Shunjiao was held and abused at the Zhangjiawan Brainwashing Centre. Around November 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. She was abducted and escorted back to her hometown, where she was held at a Detention Centre for one month.
In 2001, Ms. Yue was twice placed under arrest, and she was held at a Detention Centre again for two months. In 2002, she was sentenced to one year of forced labour, and was also detained for fifteen days at the Wuhan City Correction Institute for Women and Children.
In addition, the local residential committee held Ms. Yue Shunjiao in custody for over ten days. On November 2, 2002, local police and residential committee officials ransacked her home.
Due to the constant harassment, Ms. Yue Shunjiao died on November 9, 2004.
