On April 25, 2005, the 6th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeal in Beijing in 1999, practitioners worldwide held activities to commemorate this historically significant event. This year, the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association hosted discussions in the Legislative Yuan on the afternoon of April 25.
Central News Agency reported on April 25 that the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association hosted a discussion entitled, "Exposing the Chinese Communist Regime's Lies and Violence" to point out the Chinese Communist Party's moral degradation, disclose the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong and call on the world's people to choose kindness and reject the Chinese Communist regime.
A number of professors, scholars and VIPs participated in the discussion. The report stated that Legislative members Li Wen-chong and Wang Tu-fa of the Democratic Progressive Party, Director Wu Huilin of the China Human Rights Association, Professor Chang Chin-hwa, Director of the Institute of News Research at Taiwan University, Professor Ai Rui-chang, Chairman of Department of Business Management, National Chung Cheng University were invited to participate in the discussion to expose the Chinese Communist Party's nature.
The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association stated that around ten thousand practitioners held a peaceful appeal on April 25, 1999 in Beijing and the appeal was praised in the international media. The Chinese Communist regime started the violent persecution on July 20, indicating the regime's nature. Falun Gong practitioners believe that the regime's large-scale persecution of kind people can only lead to its own demise.
Taiwan FTV news reported that same day that on April 25 six years ago, Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed to the Chinese regime and soon after, the regime initiated a bloody persecution. In the persecution, China's government-controlled media has slandered and framed Falun Gong. The media control has been tightened more and more.
The report stated that every month, an average of 19 practitioners have been tortured to death by Jiang Zemin's group. Practitioners in Taiwan stood in silent tribute to commemorate those tortured to death.
