Sixteen Dafa Practitioners Died Due to the Persecution

Mr. Yi Honghai, 82 years old, from Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province, began to practise Falun Gong in 1997. He derived great benefit from the practice. On July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong . After he returned home, the chief of the Residents' Committee came to his home and harassed him many times. His old illnesses recurred and he died on June 20, 2003.

Ms. Xue Guizhen, 76 years old, from Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province, became a Falun Gong practitioner in 1997. She became healthy after years of suffering from illnesses. After the persecution started, she remained firm in practising and appealing for Falun Dafa. She suffered continued harassment by the chief of the Residents' Committee, and passed away on February 20, 2003.

Ms. Xi Guizhi was a 90-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Fuxin, Liaoning Province. In 1999, her family went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to a detention centre, and when they returned home, the police still harassed and threatened them frequently. The terrorizing by the police caused the elderly lady to suffer deep anxiety and fear in the stressful environment. She died at the end of the same year.

Ms. Zeng Xiuying, 70 years old, was a resident of Tai'an City, Shandong Province. Before 1996, she suffered from many illnesses, including cancer of the oesophagus. Ms. Zeng began to practise Falun Gong at the beginning of 1997 because she wanted to become healthy. Due to the practice, her illnesses disappeared. On July 22, 1999, she appealed to the provincial government, but she was arrested and her home was ransacked. Her third daughter persisted in practising Falun Dafa and was unlawfully detained twice at a forced labour camp. Her second son's entire family became destitute to avoid the illegal persecution. Because of the prolonged persecution, Zeng Xiuying died from recurrence of her illnesses in July 2003.

Wang Shunqing, 65 years old, from Liuhe Village, Laocheng Town, Wucheng County, Shandong Province, started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. He recovered from many severe illnesses. After July 20, 1999, Wang Shunqing went to Beijing to appeal, but was intercepted by the police. He was held for seven days at the Laocheng Town government offices, where he was persecuted mentally. After he returned home, Wang Shuhai and Lin Ziyu and other people from the Laocheng Town government and Public Security Sub-bureau threatened Wang Shunqing and ransacked his the home. As a result, Wang Shunqing's illnesses recurred and he passed away on September 21, 1999.

Mr. Li Xiaomin was a 25-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Chengji Town, Jianli County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. He once suffered from a kidney disorder and became healthy after practising Falun Gong. He went to Beijing to appeal in 2000 and was given a two-year prison sentence. Because he was diagnosed with a kidney disorder, Shayang Forced Labour Camp rejected him. Before he was released, he was detained at Jianli County Detention Centre for five months and kept another two months at the brainwashing centre. He died from kidney illness in October 2003.

Ms. Xiang Zhengxian, 73 years old, was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jianli County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. After July 20, 1999, the county's 610 Office (1), town local police station and residents' committee harassed her and attacked her belief many times. Once, a reporter interviewed her. Xiang Zhengxian told him about how the incurable illness she had suffered was cured after she practised Falun Gong. The reporter tried to pressure her into talking negatively about her experience with Falun Gong. The elderly lady died from her illness in March of 2003 after continued intimidation.

Ms. Wang Guiying, over 60 years old, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Da'an City, Jilin Province. After the CCP began to persecute Dafa, she refused to bow to the pressure. Due to the continued persecution, she died in 2003.

Ms. Huang Guiyun, over 60 years old, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province. After July 20, 1999, the police ransacked her home and harassed her frequently. Her family forbade her to practise Falun Gong. Unable to gain the health benefits of practising Falun Gong, she died from uremia in the autumn of 2002.

Mr. Liu Yufu, over 60 years old, from Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province, began to practise Falun Gong in the spring 1999. His stomach cancer became notably better. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, the police often harassed and threatened him. He died from his illness in the autumn of 2000.

Mr. Fan Shucheng, 76 years old, from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, became a Falun Gong practitioner in 1997. He became healthy after practising Falun Gong and did not need to take any more medication or receive medical treatments. His son also became a practitioner. After July 20, 1999, his son's name was noted on the CCP's blacklist. Therefore, the authorities came to the family home frequently and threatened them. Mr. Fan suffered under the severe pressure and died on January 9, 2001.

Ms. Tan Xiuna, 37 years old, was a resident of Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province. Because of her firm belief in Falun Gong, the police frequently harassed her. They took her twice to a brainwashing centre and ransacked her home three times. Her mother was unlawfully detained two times at a detention centre, and then sentenced to two years of forced labour. Tan Xiuna suffered severe mental harm. The illnesses she used to suffer recurred and she died in January of 2005.

Mr. Liu Ruifeng, 74 years old, lived in Yicheng Village, Zhaogezhuang Township, Baodi District, Tianjin. Before he began to practise Falun Gong in 1997, he suffered from severe cerebral haemorrhage and was bedridden. After learning Falun Gong for half a month, he could get up to practise the exercises. Through diligent practice of Falun Gong, he gradually recovered fully. When the CCP started its persecution of Dafa, he lost his cultivation environment and could no longer practise regularly. His illness recurred and he died from it in 2002.

Ms. Yang Zhiqian was a 60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Nanyuan, Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. After July 20, 1999, the public security officers threatened him and ransacked his home. He died on November 22, 1999.

Ms. Zhu Guizhen, 84 years old, was from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. After she began to practise Falun Gong in 1997, all of her illnesses disappeared and she became mentally and physically healthy. However, the CCP's persecution of Dafa caused her to lose her cultivation environment; she was no longer able to practise Falun Gong with a group. Officials from the resident's committee did not allow her to practice. Therefore, the elderly lady's illnesses recurred. She died from these illnesses on January 1, 2003.

Ms. Sun Jihua, 64 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. She started to practise at the end of 1996 and recovered from all of her diseases. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa, and the police arrested her. She was illegally held for more than ten days in the Zhangjiakou City Detention Centre, and fined more than 1,000 yuan (2). After she returned home, officers from the local police station and the local community leaders visited her home and harassed her many times. She suddenly died in March 2002.
