Is it True That "Doing Good is Rewarded with Good and Doing Evil Provokes Retribution?"

[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]

During the last five years, Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have persecuted Falun Gong maliciously, implementing a policy of "defaming their reputations, bankrupting them financially and destroying them physically." Under these difficult circumstances, Falun Dafa practitioners have risked their lives to peacefully clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the people of the world, as well as to the followers of Jiang's regime. The purpose in clarifying the truth is to clear away and expose the CCP's poisonous lies about Falun Gong.

People who learnt the truth about Falun Gong have stopped persecuting practitioners, while those who are unable to accept the truth about Falun Gong continue the senseless persecution. The relationship between good and evil, and their consequences, is being demonstrated on a daily basis.

1. Good is rewarded with good

Mengyin County of Shandong Province is home to many Falun Dafa practitioners. There is one practitioner who is very steadfast. He is over 50 years old and only has an elementary school education. When the persecution began, he walked all the way to Beijing just to say a just word for Falun Dafa. He has escaped detention centres numerous times with righteous thoughts founded on his firm belief in Falun Dafa. In the early fall of 2002, both he and his wife were arrested. As a result, no one was there to take care of their crops. However, their cotton and corn harvest was much better than normal.

On August 6th of 2004, the son of this practitioner was walking down the street when he suddenly fell down as if he had fainted. He was sent to the hospital. After the examination, he was found to have fractured his skull from the impact with the road. The doctor said that he could not perform a surgery on him due to there being loose fragments of bone and a danger of the skull falling apart. The doctor was at a loss for what to do. The practitioner's son was in a coma for twelve days. In the evening of the thirteenth day, the practitioner sent righteous thoughts and then did the sitting meditation. When he entered meditation, he saw a Law Wheel and a lotus rotating in his son's ward and saw some Law Wheel's passing back and forth through his son's body. He told his wife, "Our son is fine. Teacher has already cleansed his body." On the next day, the son woke up and asked for his mother. He said that he had heard the sound of his bones connecting. The examination results that day showed that all areas of the fracture were healed, and the joints between the bones were perfectly healed. His mind also felt perfectly clear. The doctors were surprised that he could make an unbelievable recovery in such a short time.

However, the doctor warned them and admonished the couple with his theory that since their son's arm could not move freely, it would press a nerve and that if they did not undergo surgery, the arm would be permanently injured. The wife of this practitioner said at once, "We do not want surgery. The child will certainly recover completely." They went home on the sixteenth day. The son did not take medication or eat any special foods after going home. However, he could cook and wash clothes after only a few days. Now, he can do everything normally. After this event, the whole family began to practise Falun Gong. The neighbours all say now, "The parents practise Falun Gong and their child has benefited from them."

2. Evil provokes karmic retribution

Wang Kaisheng was a cadre belonging to the town government and living one mile away from the homes of Falun Gong practitioners. Since the former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang and his regime started to persecute Falun Gong, Wang Kaisheng became a henchman in the persecution. He led his subordinates to break into and search practitioner's homes, cruelly beat practitioners, slander practitioners and slander the founder of Falun Gong. One day he had an accident while riding a motorcycle. As a result, his leg was injured and his father's leg was also broken.

Practitioners warned Wang Kaisheng not to carry out bad deeds. However, Wang Kaisheng did not listen and persisted in committing crimes against Falun Dafa. On January 9th of 2003, at 9 o'clock, Wang Kaisheng was riding a motorcycle and smashed into a parked car on the side of the road. He died at the scene.
