Located along the coastline of the Baltic Sea, Liepaja is the third largest city in Latvia. On Liepaja’s Fisherman’s Day and National Army Day which falls on July the 2nd, local practitioners and practitioners from Liga held a Falun Gong exercise demonstration at Rose Square in the central area of the city, and taught local people the exercises. In the meantime, they also held an exhibition to introduce the popularity of Falun Gong around the world, the recognition it has received worldwide and the facts about the ongoing persecution against Falun Gong in China.

Throughout the activity, many parents took their children to the exercise site, showing keen interest in learning to fold paper Lotus Flowers. As soon as they learned about the principles of Falun Dafa, many of them wished to learn the exercises there and then. They also said: “We need compassion and tolerance.”

Seeing the pictures of Falun Gong practitioners suffering brutal persecution in China, they could hardly imagine how this inhuman persecution could possibly happen in modern society. They expressed their indignation at the terrible human rights crimes that have been conducted by the Chinese Communist Party against Falun Gong. Someone said, “We didn’t know that the Communist Party is so evil and cruel, though we have been living in such an environment for over seventy years now.

The weather was very good that day. Though it was fairly cloudy in the early morning, it cleared up and the sun was out again after the activity started.

After denouncing the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution against Falun Gong, many people wished to learn the Falun Gong exercises. After the activity concluded, a seven-year-old boy was reluctant to leave until we taught him the exercises. He finally learned all of the five sets of exercises.
