Scottish practitioners carried out peaceful demonstrations outside three locations in the city during the minister’s visit on 18 January. They proclaimed out loud “Falun Dafa” is good in Chinese to the minister and his entourage. This felt very powerful, particularly at the museum where the officials came out of their cars just a few steps away from the practitioners. The British official in charge of security came over to thank practitioners for their orderly and peaceful protest, and took an SOS leaflet to read later. Police officers said they had experience of policing Falun Gong protests before, knew we were good people and understood and supported our appeal.
We were able to show the minister responsible for foreign affairs that Falun Gong is practised worldwide and that when he visits a foreign country like Scotland, practitioners are determined and have the freedom to express the truth about Falun Dafa and call for an end to the persecution.
