From 2002 to 2005, every year on National Day, Falun Gong practitioners have had the chance to meet the French President, Prime Minister, Ministers, Members of Parliament and other non-political VIPs.
On this year’s National Day, July 13th 2005, four representatives from the French Falun Gong Association were invited to a Garden Party at the Ministry of Overseas Department.
Every year, the Association has been able to meet President Jacques Chirac and different Ministers, as well as the successive Prime Ministers. Now they have all been informed personally or by letter about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners being carried out by the Chinese Communist Party.
As well as members of the government, business people and famous artists have had the chance to talk with the practitioners and express their support for practitioners’ efforts to bring the human rights abuses against Falun Gong to an end. At the 2005 meeting, famous comedian Raphael Mezrahi said that he firmly opposed the Chinese regime and would never talk to its leaders because he has too much contempt for the crimes they have committed. "I do not criticize China, I criticize this bloody cruel regime."
Throughout 2005, practitioners have noticed that more and more people in France are well informed about the persecution of Falun Gong and are no longer influenced by the defamation campaign organized by the Chinese Communist Party. Falun Gong has become a symbol of peaceful resistance, which can never be crushed.
President Jacques Chirac, the Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and 31 other ministers have all been informed about the wave of withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party, which, in the last seven months, has seen 3 million people withdraw from the organisation that is carrying out the human rights abuses against Falun Gong practitioners.
