Erected in 1867, Fontaine aux Lions (Fountain of the Lions) in Place Félix Eboué is situated in the centre of the 12th District of southern Paris, where it is tranquil and peaceful with lots of shady greenery. This is also the usual place for citizens of the 12th District to take a walk. According to plan, French practitioners held an activity here to introduce Falun Dafa on July 30th 2005.
Throughout the activity we gave out large amounts of leaflets to people passing by and also met many citizens who support Falun Gong: Some felt infuriated by the evil persecution, some signed the petition to oppose it, while others asked for more leaflets for their friends and families.
After finishing reading some French material a lady wanted to know more detailed information. She pointed at a thick pile of Chinese Falun Gong leaflets and said: “It’s such a shame that I don’t understand Chinese!” Then she signed the petition for her whole family.
After signing the petition an elderly lady asked: “Apart from signing the petition to oppose the persecution, what else can I do for you?” Practitioners told her that she could also write to the media, MPs, the president and tell more people about the cruel persecution happening in China. She nodded and said “Continue with your work! Keep it up!”
There was also a mother and her son at university who passed by. When they got to know about the evil CCP’s persecution of kind Falun Gong practitioners, she desperately said: “I will sign your petition right now!” Afterwards she demanded her son to sign as well and said to him: “This is your obligation!”
Co-incidentally, we also ran into two world-famous top models. Their familiar faces were immediately recognised by westerner practitioners. They were astonished by the persecution. One of them said: “Nowhere else in the world can such a persecution happen.” Afterwards, they solemnly put their names on the petition.
