Switzerland: Appealing for Support from United Nations Participants to Rescue my Auntie

My auntie, Ms. Qiu Minghua, is being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party because she refuses to give up practising Falun Gong. She has been illegally imprisoned since November 25th 2004. In order to appeal for her rescue, during the period of the UN Human Rights Committee from the end of July 2005 to the beginning of August I talked to about one hundred officials from different countries in the United Nations and to members of NGOs (non-governmental organisations). I appealed to them to support the rescue of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in Mainland China. The effect was good.

During the process of explaining the persecution to these people, I found many have understood the truth about Falun Gong due to practitioners’ continuous efforts over the past several years. However, there are still some people who don’t understand why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong. I told them two main reasons. One is that the number of people practising Falun Gong reached one hundred million, outnumbering the membership of the Chinese Communist Party. At that time, the CCP’s president Jiang Zemin was jealous at the popularity of Falun Gong and started a campaign of persecution against practitioners with the orders “physically destroy them, bankrupt them financially and ruin their reputations”. Another reason for the persecution is that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice that follows “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” and the CCP’s history is based on violence, lies and killing. The CCP’s nature decided that it cannot tolerate “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” and began the attack against Falun Gong practitioners.

Many people felt very sad from the bottom of their hearts upon hearing my account. They said that they couldn’t understand why this cruel persecution is still going on after six years and thanked me for telling them the truth. They hoped that Falun Gong practitioners who have been imprisoned can be freed soon. Eighty people signed their names on a petition form for rescuing my auntie. Some officials specially told me how to ask for help from some relevant organisations. People gave me their business cards to keep in touch and hoped they could offer more help to Falun Gong in accordance with their particular jobs. They also deeply admired Falun Gong practitioners who gather all over the world and appeal peacefully at the Palais Des Nations UN building every year during the annual human rights conference in Geneva.

I asked them to pass on the information and leaflets I gave them to more people when they finished reading them. Some Falun Gong practitioners have paid with their lives to disclose the truth of the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution against Falun Gong. Letting more people understand the truth of the persecution is the best way to help. They said they would do so. The truth will be understood by all people in the near future.
