I had been sent to Unit 7 of Lanzhou City's No. 1 Forced Labour Camp because I firmly insisted on practicing Falun Gong. There was an underground food storage room in Unit 7, but they used it as a torture chamber for abusing practitioners. Each detained practitioner was forced by ruffians to slander Dafa and Teacher Li [founder of Falun Gong] when he (or she) was first brought in there. If the practitioners did not give up practicing, they would be forced to stand still and not be allowed to sleep. If practitioners still firmly believed in Dafa they would be hung by their handcuffs in this chamber of horrors. If the practitioners still wouldn't give up, they then would be sent to the "underground food storage room" to be cruelly beaten. Practitioners were beaten so badly that injuries covered their bodies. Sometimes they were beaten to the point of losing the ability to take care of themselves.
The most typical example is that of a female practitioner named Wang Lianzhen. She needs others to feed her, dress her and help her to the restroom. Another female practitioner named Sun Lanping was beaten to the point where she could not take care of herself for over a month. Ruffians used scarves to cover practitioners' eyes and mouths when they beat practitioners. Usually after several hours' torture, practitioners would end up suffering from breathing difficulties. Sometimes the leader of Unit 7 would exhort ruffians in person to beat practitioners. Further investigation needs to be conducted. Practitioners being tortured are still detained there.
Officials at Unit 7 also used drug addicts to pretend to be practitioners, as deception. There is a propaganda picture posted on the factory bulletin board that shows that a practitioner receiving oxygen therapy in the hospital is being taken care of by the factory leaders. The "patient's" name is GAO Chunmei, who is actually a drug addict, detained at No. 2 Forced Labour Camp for three years of forced labour. The picture is still posted on the board now.
