The Epoch Times reported the following on October 23rd. At 11:30 am on the 22nd of October, the UK Saying Goodbye to the CCP Confederation and Service Centre for Quitting the CCP jointly held a press conference from outside the UK Chinese Embassy to commemorate the historical moment of five million people withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). After the press conference, the participants held a parade to London Chinatown to support the magnificent feat of those withdrawing from the CCP. The event attracted a great deal of public attention.
At the press conference, Dr. Li Guihua, head of the UK Service Centre for Quitting the CCP, was the first speaker. Dr. Li observed that the trend of over five million people quitting the CCP globally has pushed the CCP towards the edge of collapse. A new China without the CCP will soon be born. She also recounted moving stories of receiving declarations to quit the CCP from mainland China when the Service Centre was first set up.
The Chief Editor of the Chinese Epoch Times in the UK, Dr. Liu Wei, was the next speaker. Dr. Liu pointed out since the Epoch Times’ Editorial Board’s publication of the Nine Commentaries at the end of last year, the global withdrawal carried great momentum. Five million is a significant milestone, which reflects widespread resurrection of morals in Chinese society. Such moral courage is disintegrating the iron curtain of the CCP’s totalitarian rule. This is the beginning of a grand spiritual movement and the beginning of the Chinese people being freed from fear and violence. It foretells the start of a new China.
A democratic movement proponent and a lecturer at London University, Dr. Xu Yi, described his experience of quitting the CCP. Dr. Xu first declared his withdrawal from the CCP after the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. He was completely disappointed with the CCP sixteen years before. But not many people quit the CCP after Tiananmen Square. The Nine Commentaries fundamentally exposed the true nature of the CCP. Since the Nine Commentaries’ distribution to China, people saw the CCP for what it really is. The power of truth is boundless. The most effective way to defeat the most brutal totalitarian rule is for people to know the facts.
A representative from the English Epoch Times, Caroline Yates, read a true case from Xian, China, which was recently reported in the Epoch Times. The authorities murdered one policeman since he had publicly announced his withdrawal from the CCP.
Mr. Li Heping, who had been illegally detained for as long as two years in China due to his Falun Gong practise, shared his horrible experience of being tortured by the CCP for not giving up the freedom of belief. With facts he verified the CCP’s bloody persecution of Falun Gong spiritual movement as exposed in the Nine Commentaries.
After the press release, banner and slogans in hands, participants held a parade from the Chinese Embassy to Chinatown to support five million quitting the CCP. Gongs, drums and loud speakers attracted a great of public attention from tourists and residents alike. Many people asked for leaflets. Some also showed support with words and gestures. When the parade slowly went through the main street in Chinatown, many Chinese stopped to watch and took leaflets.
When interviewed by the press, a lady from Yugoslav said, “I am from a communist country. I feel all communism is bad, especially the Chinese Communist Party, as they conceal their evil nature. Everyone should unite to eliminate the communist party. This is not just a problem for the Chinese since the world is an integral whole. The communist party is a big threat to the whole world.”
An Englishman from central London said, “It is extraordinary how the withdrawal movement is developing like this. While the CCP tries to reform to a free economy, it attempts to maintain it political system to continue controlling the people. This is not sustainable in the end.”
A French lady living in England, Ms. Caroline Birer, said, “I am very glad to hear that people are finally quitting an evil party that alienated them from their own culture. I regard those who quit as very courageous. It indeed takes a lot of courage to give up a safe and comfortable environment to go after freedom. Quitting the CCP is a sign of hope. I hope people can fight with their conscience a wrong thing that they know down the bottom of their hearts.”
