Becoming More Diligent in My Cultivation

After I started to cultivate in Falun Dafa in 1999, I totally recovered from my illnesses. When Jiang Zemin and his regime started persecuting Falun Dafa, I began to think, "Why do they persecute Falun Gong practitioners? The persecution has to be wrong." While I was hoeing the grass one day, I thought about how Teacher¹ requires us to be good people, and that I must conduct myself according to Falun Dafa's principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. As soon as I had these thoughts, I was filled with inspiration, and I more firmly believed in Falun Dafa.

In 2000, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) fabricated the Tiananmen self-immolation incident, so I went to the local government and told them, "My Teacher is innocent. He asked us to be good people." The local authorities immediately arrested me and beat me until my whole face was swollen. The police took me to a detention centre, where I was persecuted for six months. I was released after I wrote a guarantee statement. I felt ashamed. After arriving home, I found that my husband had destroyed my copy of Teacher's book Zhuan Falun, so I obtained another one from a fellow practitioner. I started to read Teacher's book again, and I told whomever I met that Falun Gong is good and my Teacher has been treated unjustly. A fellow practitioner and I worked together; he wrote materials to expose these atrocities, and I handed them out to people. Later, we obtained printed materials, which we both handed out often. After each time that I clarified the truth, I felt incomparably happy and while sleeping, dreamt of eating sweets.

In 2003, I planted some watermelons in a field. The villagers all knew that I was friendly, so whenever I worked in the field, they came by to say hello. I thought that if they came to my watermelon field, I would clarify the truth to save them. As soon as they came, I let them eat the watermelons, gave them truth clarification materials and explained the facts. After learning the truth, some wanted to practise Falun Dafa, including some of my relatives and friends. We did not have extra Falun Dafa's books, so I asked my fellow practitioners to help me duplicate Teacher's lecture tapes. I myself made over 20 sets and gave them to people who wanted to practise Falun Dafa. I also bought some small tape dubbing machines for them. When I gave them Teacher's lecture tapes, I sent forth righteous thoughts. With my celestial eye, I saw that their knowing sides were extremely happy, and so was I. Teacher was encouraging me.

One time, when I was on my way to hand out some materials, the wind suddenly blew violently. I thought, "The sky was clear with little wind a second ago. Where does this strange wind come from?" So, I listened to the sound of the wind and knew it was abnormal. Next, I had strong thoughts in my heart, "I am Teacher Li Hongzhi's practitioner. Who can dare to touch me?" After I had this thought, the strange wind stopped. I thanked merciful Teacher for helping me once again.

One day, I suddenly felt chilled throughout my whole body. I thought, "Have I got a cold?" Soon, my whole body was shaking and trembling. It lasted for an hour. Then, I realised it was the evil persecuting me. I forced myself to sit in the meditation position and sent forth righteous thoughts. After cleaning up my own dimensional field, my body suddenly stopped trembling.

Another time, during a very foggy day, I distributed some Falun Dafa related materials while riding a bicycle. When I passed a graveyard, suddenly my bicycle stopped working. It seemed to have a mechanical problem. I immediately thought," Teacher help me!" With this thought my bicycle immediately started working.

One autumn, my two sisters-in-law and I rode bicycles to the field to work. When we were crossing the road, an adult-size tricycle quickly drove toward us. The tricycle almost hit my youngest brother's wife, but she thought in her heart, "Falun Dafa is good." The tricycle stopped at that same moment. The driver and she were both very scared.

When we arrived at the field, she said, "Sister-in-law, what you said about Falun Dafa being great is so true! Falun Dafa is such a miracle. Now, I really believe what you have said about Falun Dafa." She also told me, "Two days ago, I had a dream. Do you remember the Falun Dafa emblem you gave me earlier? In my dream, a Bodhisattva visited me with the same emblem. As soon as my hand could touch it, the Bodhisattva magically raised me into the air. Falun Dafa is really good. Today, it was the Falun Dafa emblem that saved my life."

In one instance, I clarified the facts about the persecution to a man. He said, "If you give me the Communist Party's materials, I will not read them. If you give me Falun Gong's materials, I will read them." Another time, I went to the village fireworks factory. I saw the brigade committee secretary, the village head and the manager of the factory. They carefully listened to me as I expose the lies by the Party and explained to them the true principle behind Falun Dafa and the Falun Dafa emblem. The village head immediately started wearing the Falun Dafa emblem. My village leaders are very supportive of Falun Dafa. Some of them have withdrawn from the Communist Party's organisations. Some of the leaders have started practising Falun Dafa.

After a period of time, I felt that I had done a lot for Falun Dafa, and I became complacent. While I was reading Teacher's new article, "The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be," I realised that I had developed attachments of complacency and zealotry and also realised that I should catch up and do the three things better according to Teacher's requirements. Otherwise, I will have deep regrets and will let Teacher and others down..
