Three Practitioners from Liaoning Province, Hebei Province and Hubei Province Pass Away Due to Persecution

Ms. Miao Xueying, 75, was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City in Liaoning Province. She started practising Falun Dafa in late 1996. In November 2000, Ms. Miao went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, but she was illegally arrested¹ by the police at the Shenyang City North Station and sentenced to forced labour. While being held in the Longshan Forced Labour Camp, her mind and body were greatly injured and she started to have illness symptoms, including hypertension and heart disease. Six months later she was released to seek medical treatment. During the past several years, police officers and staff members from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Residential District Office often came to her house to harass her, making it difficult for her to practise Falun Dafa. As a consequence, her health worsened and finally she passed away on January 11th, 2006.

Mr. Li Jixiao, 45, was a practitioner from Xiazhuang Village, Handan County, Handan City in Hebei Province. On October 23rd, 2000, because he was printing Falun Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution, police arrested him. At the police station he refused to cooperate with the police and write the three statements², so he was sentenced to forced labour. In September 2002, he was arrested by the police from the Xiazhuang Village 610 Office³ and taken to the No. 1 Detention Centre of Handan City, where he was held and subjected to brainwashing. Because he refused to cooperate, he was taken to the Xixingtai Forced Labour Camp of Handan County, where he was tortured for a year. After he was released from the forced labour camp, he continued to do expose the persecution. However, his family members did not understand him and even started trying to keep him from cultivating because of the intense psychological pressures created by the numerous arrests and tortures. This greatly injured his mind and his heart. In early October 2005, he started having discomfort in his body. His family members sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment but it proved to be ineffective. Sadly, he passed away on October 8th, 2005.

Ms. Liu Wangzhen, 41, was a practitioner from Macheng City in Hubei Province. Prior to practising Falun Dafa, she had many illnesses. She was always mentally and physically exhausted and anxious and impatient. In June 1999, she was fortunate enough to learn Falun Dafa. Her understanding of the truth of life allowed her to get rid of numerous discomforts and many worries. She always told others that Falun Dafa allowed her to have a new life. Her life became happy. Unfortunately, less than two months after she learned Falun Dafa, she became a target of the senseless persecution carried out by the Communist regime. She lost the environment for group practice as well as the environment for discussions with fellow practitioners for further improvement. She continued to resist all persecution using her free time after her work and also used her personal experience to let people know the truth. Nevertheless, because of the persecution, she passed away on April 7th, 2003.

1. Illegally arrested: Contrary to what former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, who initiated the persecution, and the Chinese Communist Party would like the world to believe, practising Falun Gong is NOT illegal in China. Although the Public Security Department issued an unconstitutional set of restraints on the practice at the onset of the persecution in 1999, no laws have been passed by the only legislative body in China, the People's Congress, banning Falun Gong or granting the police the authority to arrest Falun Gong practitioners for practising the exercises or distributing flyers. 2. "Three Statements": Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write "Repentance Statement," "Guarantee Statement" or 'Dissociation Statement" as proof that they have given up their belief. In the statement, the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practising Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

3. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
