From February 16th to 18th, practitioners from the Moscow area and some staff members of The Epoch Times newspaper held a hunger strike relay in front of the Chinese Embassy to strongly protest against the recent violent assault of Falun Gong practitioner and Epoch Times Chief Technical Officer Dr. Yuan Li of Atlanta.

On February 8th, Dr. Li Yuan was attacked, tied up, beaten by the Chinese Communist agents with guns, and his laptops and documents were taken away. The attack took place after the agents tricked their way into his home by pretending to be delivery men. After the agents left, Dr. Li’s neighbour called the police and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance and given 15 stitches.

While there was not enough time to obtain permission for a group protest, according to Russian law individual protests require no permission. Practitioners took turns to conduct hunger strikes in front of the Embassy over the three day period holding a big signboard to let people know why they were there. Though it was nearly degrees below freezing, practitioners braved the freezing snow and wind to let more people know about the persecution that their fellow practitioners in China are subject to as well as the recent incident in Atlanta.

Regarding the terrorist activities of the Chinese Communist Party’s CCP) overseas secret agents, Russian practitioners believe that these are just the regime’s desperate struggle before its demise. Every attempt from the regime to suppress Falun Gong just brings more attention the CCP’s human rights abuses.

Besides protesting in front of the Embassy, practitioners also sent related information packages to the media, government and human rights groups. They also formed several groups to distribute the Nine Commentaries, Falun Gong leaflets and other related materials to Chinese and local people at major markets and in the busy downtown area. The hoodlum violence of the Chinese Communist Party’s secret agents once again testified to the evil nature of the party.
