Practitioner Chen Yong Tortured To Death

Mr. Chen Yong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian City Development District, was unlawfully sentenced to 3 years of labour "re-education" by the Development District's Public Security Bureau in mid 2000. After being jailed in Dalian Forced Labour Camp for more than one year, he still held firm to his belief that he should be allowed to practise Falun Gong , and was transferred to Guanshan Forced Labour Camp for further persecution along with some other determined practitioners. Here, he was tortured to death on January 30, 2002. He is survived by his 7-year old child who was left unattended at home, and his mother who is seriously ill and was hospitalised at the time of his death. Chen Yong was a healthy young man with an outgoing personality. He was acknowledged by his colleagues to be a good worker and a warm-hearted person. He was brutally persecuted just because he practiced Falun Gong.
