On February 17th 2006, German Falun Gong practitioners rallied with several other international human rights organisations in Berlin, urging Foreign Minister Steimeier to pay attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China before his visit to Asia.
Steimeier succeeded as Minister of Foreign Affairs last November and the Falun Gong Association expressed that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong has become more concealed: When the CCP began the suppression of Falun Gong in ’99; the media were fabricating overwhelming propaganda to slander Falun Gong. However in recent years all the propaganda to defame Falun Gong has ceased and become constrained, which gives the outside world the false impression that Falun Gong does not exist anymore. Nevertheless, the CCP’s ultimate purpose in that is to escape international condemnation.
The Falun Gong Association representatives point out that in fact, the CCP’s arrests and torture of Falun Gong practitioners hasn’t decreased at all. The number of Falun Gong practitioners who have been beaten and tortured to death is still steadily rising.

Overseas Chinese Democracy Frontier Chairman Fei Liangyong thinks that the human rights situation inside China is actually deteriorating at an alarming and worrying rate. He condemns the CCP’s wicked gangster-like tactics of sending secret agents to America and attacking The Chinese Epoch Times chief technician and Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Li Yuan. At the same time he urges international society to pay attention to this incident.
Officials of the German Foreign Ministry came to the rally that afternoon to meet representatives of Falun Gong, international human rights organisations and the Overseas Chinese Democracy Frontier and talked for nearly an hour. Furthermore Falun Gong representative Wu Manyan spoke to the diplomats about Falun Gong practitioner Jiang Renzheng, who was deported to China with his family from Germany in March 2005 and was unlawfully sentenced to three years forced labour by the CCP. Right now he is still suffering suppression and is asking for help and rescue.
When Falun Gong representative offered the diplomat three copies of the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party”, he replied, "I have already read it and I am fully aware about the tide of quitting the CCP".
Falun Gong representative Wu Manyan also revealed that the new chancellor of Germany Mrs. Merkel personally replied to the German Falun Gong Association not long ago. The letter clearly condemns the persecution of Falun Gong.
