Dear Clear Harmony Team,

One year ago, while doing research on killings of women, I chanced upon your Web site and was shaken to the core.

The first story I read about Falun Gong dealt with gang rape in the Masanjia Labour camp. I simply can’t imagine how one person can do such a thing to another living being. These types of cruelties are happening in our modern times? I simply refused to believe it when I was reading the first few lines. However, with every new article, I became more certain of the truth behind it. I am most disturbed that I learned about all of this so late! Sure, everybody knows that China is very good at not permitting ‘undesirable’ information to leave the country but the newspapers in our country have never reported on it and are also to blame. I think that the newspapers are afraid to report on it because they are unable to verify the stories. What they don’t consider is that it is worse not to say anything at all because thousands of innocent people are losing their lives. The difficulty of getting airtight stories out of China is proven by many of the stories on the Clear Harmony website and we saw the same thing happening during the SARS epidemic. Even as the incident at the White House was unfolding, the newspapers did not react. I don’t know how the incident was dealt with in the American newspapers but in our country, there were only cursory reports.

I am just glad that it could play a small role: When I first started to inform myself about Falun Gong, I went to the homepage of the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland and found the site very confusing. Clicking on the link “Against the Falun Gong” it said that prior to practising Falun Gong, practitioners used to be healthy people but that they were turned into cripples both physically and mentally. I was shocked and didn’t know what I should believe. However, there are many letters of Falun Gong practitioners which all agree that Falun Gong is good for your health. Only rarely are there reports against Falun Gong and they all come from Chinese homepages. I quickly understood who was telling the truth. I contacted the Swiss Friends of Falun Gong Club and told them about the article on the Chinese homepage. I asked for a short comment and received it. Since then, the article is no longer found on the homepage, although the link still exists - I don’t know why. I am glad that I was able to play a small role and that we have freedom of religion and expression in Switzerland! It is not permitted to play dirty in our country!

I would like to thank you for reporting on this topic and for fighting for human rights and freedom of expression in China! Since then I have become a daily reader of Clearharmony.net and Minghui.de. The topics about the self-immolation and about the suffering of Ms. Gao Rongrong and the latest stories about Ms. Liu Jizhi have touched my heart.

My common sense tells me that people who follow the principles of “Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance” just have to be good people! I simply have to cry when I read stories about practitioners who continue to do good deeds in spite of being persecuted or beaten. I have now bought the book Zhuan Falun and will try to read it soon because it seems very interesting to me.

I hope that the warm sun will brighten the path for all practitioners in China and around the world! All my thoughts are with the practitioners and I hope their suffering will come to an end very soon!

Warmest regards,
A Swiss reader of the Clear Harmony Web site
