Falun Gong Practitioner Bin He Talks About Why Falun Gong Has Not Been Defeated for the Past Seven Years

It is almost seven years since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong, relying on strength of faith, has endured the most ruthless persecution by the wickedest regime in the history of China. This an issue worth thinking about deeply. Well then, how has Falun Gong made it? About the issue, a reporter from the Minghui website interviewed Mr. Bin He, the news analyst.

Question: How are you, Mr. Bin He. It is already seven years since Falun Gong started to be persecuted from July of 1999 until now. At the beginning of the persecution, most people thought that Falun Gong could only stand it for a few months because the CCP’s several-decade history proves that as long as the CCP wants to suppress whoever they are, even if he is the chairman of the country, he also can be cracked down overnight, but on the contrary, after seven-year persecution, Falun Gong is not beaten down but its fame and influence is becoming bigger and bigger especially overseas. What reason would you give for this?

Answer: Faith is different from some other things. Although Falun Gong is a form of Qigong, more about a way of cultivation, that is to say, it is a faith. Some other things are as what you just mentioned: the CCP wants to suppress whoever they are; they will be beaten down within three days. As a faith, however, Falun Gong is something spiritual and can not be suppressed, just like using a knife cutting water, “Taking out a knife to cut water makes it flow faster.”

Things like this happened in history, such as persecutions of Christianity and Buddhism. Finally, they all have been handed down. On the contrary, those who persecuted them disappeared, which is to say on the large scale. It is of no help suppressing a faith by force.

From another point of view then, Falun Gong improves not only people’s health but their morality as well, which is many practitioners’ personal experience and not something entirely imaginary. Perhaps those who don’t practice think that Falun Gong is something illusory. For those genuine practitioners, this is their own experience, many of them used to have incurable diseases or several other illnesses or something bad. Through cultivation, their bodies have been purified and their minds upgraded, which is their own experience.

Normally, two main methods are being used to persecute Falun Gong by the CCP: One is through media propaganda, that is to make rumors, and another is to persecute practitioners physically. From its propaganda, as it wants you to give it up, it must produce hatred of Falun Gong. Therefore, it has made many rumours such as Falun Gong practitioners committing suicide or killing others. Falun Gong practitioners have especially clear minds. As Falun Gong itself is a way of cultivation belonging to the Buddha School, it forbids killing lives and tells practitioners that committing suicide is a sin, which is clearly explained in the books of Falun Gong. Therefore, the CCP TV showing those who committed suicide, who killed some others and who burned themselves etc. can not move practitioners’ belief in Falun Gong because they are prohibited according to the principles of Falun Gong

Another method being used, the CCP tortures practitioners and forces them to renounce their belief. As the CCP is atheistic it doesn’t understand at all those who believe in God and the realm of cultivators. It is very difficult to force people to give up their belief by using torture. Cultivators are cherishing their lives but they can also put down life and death, which is the power of their faith. So, it is hopeless if you want to use torture to force people to renounce their belief.

Question: Why is it that the CCP sometimes sin on newspapers how many people who practice Falun Gong are transformed and how high the rate of transformation is?

Answer: I have just mentioned that the CCP has made a lot of rumours. Especially under those sort of close conditions in forced labour camps and prisons, the CCP forces Falun Gong practitioners to give up Falun Gong by using torture or their family members. As Falun Gong practitioners are also human beings and in the process of cultivation, they are bound to have many human thoughts. It is possible that some one has to give up, he or she is indeed transformed and has written a statement of repentance etc, which is completely possible. Once he is released, when he is back in the environment of freedom, he can be clear-headed again. What makes people laugh at the rate of transformation is: It has transformed that person, but he cultivates again when he is out. That is why Falun Gong can not be beaten down. Even if it has transformed 100 people, perhaps many of them will resume cultivation and become Falun Gong practitioners again when they are set free.

So, the rate of transformation can’t become the sign of its success in suppression at all. For example, within one year after the CCP suppressed Falun Gong, it started saying that more than ninety percent of people had been transformed. But, as you said just now: For seven years, there have been still so many people practicing Falun Gong and still so many people are against the persecution, well then, where do these people come from? Why are there still so many people? It is because that the cultivation itself is a repeated process for those who have fallen down and got up again, a process of making oneself become more firm in the Fa, firmly believing in the Fa and upgrading oneself. That is why its rate of transformation does not work at all.

Question: What actions have Falun Gong practitioners mainly taken opposing the persecution?

Answer: Falun Gong practitioners have been persisting in opposing the persecution for so many years. In fact their strategy of being against the persecution is so simple that they just clarify the truth. That is to say, since you persecute me, I will then disclose all your means of the persecution and rumours you have made. Although the action of clarifying the truth seems very peaceful without knives and guns, as a matter of fact, it is a way the CCP has never expected before. It had thought that the opposite side would fight against it with knives and guns. It is not like that. It is by using such a very peaceful way that Falun Gong practitioner have succeeded. Not only do ordinary people know the evilness of the CCP but, at the same time, also policemen in prisons and forced labour camps understand it, which also has greatly frightened them and can also encourage more practitioners to walk out and still new practitioners will participate in it. Clarifying the truth in addition to practitioner from home and abroad supporting each other has greatly promoted Falun Gong although it has been cruelly beaten down by the CCP for so many years.

In fact, clarifying the truth and the principle of Falun Gong comes down in one continuous line. Since they are cultivating Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, they should tell the truth. Now that the CCP has made many rumours and is persecuting them, they are bound to defend the Fa. Therefore, they are bound to clarify the truth naturally. To Falun Gong practitioners, truth clarification is a part of their cultivating process.

Question: Isn’t the CCP also attempting to persecute Falun Gong overseas?

Answer: The CCP has also carried out a lot of harassment to Falun Gong many times including sending secret agents, buying off overseas Chinese media and filtering media. The CCP has also employed some local, overseas Chinese societies it has developed to harass and destroy Falun Gong such as smashing Falun Gong practitioners’ cars, hiring Africans in South Africa to wound a Falun Gong practitioner using guns, beating up Falun Gong practitioners in China Town and smashing exhibition boards of Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP even has sent a few people to break into the home of Li Yuan of the Epoch Times in Atlanta USA, taken his computer away, then beating him on the head and he lost a lot of blood.

Every time it does such a thing, the CCP feels that it has directed its personal spite: “Look, I have punished Falun Gong.” And yet, from another point of view, it has revealed more of the CCP’s wickedness. The CCP is so good at hiding its own evilness that outsiders can hardly see it. It does things like that; on the contrary, it has exposed its wickedness and has had more people see clearly the rogue habit of the CCP. In fact, to Falun Gong, what the CCP has done is equal to the fact that it has used its habit which can never be changed to produce the evidence. It has proved outside how it has persecuted Falun Gong. Think about it everyone, it has even persecuted Falun Gong practitioners overseas and you can imagine what the persecution is like in China.

Question: I was told that many people abroad didn’t pay attention to Falun Gong until the persecution started, is it so?

Answer: Yes. Take Taiwan as an example. There were perhaps over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners before the persecution, and now the number of practitioner has increased a good many times. When seeing that Falun Gong being persecuted, they feel very curious about it. Through understanding, they found out that Falun Gong is good; so many people have walked into the cultivation. Actually, the reputation of the CCP is not good internationally. The Communist Party in societies of freedom is something very negative. What the Communist Party is against always draws people’s attention. Falun Gong practitioners I have met in the USA are those who have walked into cultivation just because that the CCP is beating down Falun Gong, they thought: “What has been beaten down by the CCP is likely to be something good.” They got to know Falun Gong just from this point of view.

Just as what I mentioned, the faith is just like what someone says: “If you want to promote a faith, you will have to persecute it.” Falun Gong is now practiced in over eighty countries and areas and new practitioners keep flocking to it, which is what the CCP has never expected.
