On May 16th, the Austria Post published an article titled “Chinese Art Exhibition in Burg Schlaining”, recommending the “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” International Art Exhibition held by Falun Gong practitioners to its readers.
The article says, the “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” Art Exhibition held by anti-despotism Chinese artists in Friedensburg (Burg of Peace) in the city of Schlaining ended with success last Friday, May 16th.
During the exhibition, many impressive paintings from a different China were displayed. This “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” International Art Exhibition displayed a collection of twenty-nine canvases, gouaches and some photographs. It was promoted by “Ars Cara” Art and Culture Association.
All the artworks displayed are from the hands of Falun Gong practitioners. In 1999, Falun Gong was banned in China where it started to spread. Its principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” a sharp contrast with the Communist Party’s ruling guideline based on control, coercion and violence.
Former Communist leader Jiang Zemin ordered a ban on this practice when the number of Falun Gong practitioners far exceeded the number of party members. Some artist exhibitors themselves have experience of being tortured, repressed and detained in forced labour camps.
This exhibition was displayed in the US and Canada first and now it has come to the Europe. The aim of this exhibition is to raise people’s awareness of this human rights violation which has not received attention from public groups all over the world. On the other side, this exhibition also shows the beautifulness of the cultivation of Falun Gong and the return of the true and pure compassion. These unique paintings have been displayed in America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and other countries in Europe.
Before the exhibition, the Mayor of the city, Alfred Rohr sent his congratulations: “Friedensburg (Burg of Peace) is the perfect place for this art exhibition in the city of Schlaining”. Member of the state parliament Ms. Doris Prohaska attended the opening ceremony of the art exhibition. Mr. Volker Dietz from the organising committee of the international art exhibition explained all the art works to visitors.
