Workplaces that Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners in Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province

The Fifth People' Hospital, Zichuan District, Zibo City (formerly a psychiatric hospital)

This hospital uses force to give Falun Gong practitioners injections of drugs that damage the central nervous system, electric shocks, and force-feedings. When some practitioners did not cooperate with them, the doctors from the hospital tied their arms and legs to the beds and illegally detained them for long periods of time. They didn' even permit practitioners' family members or other relatives to visit them. The detained practitioners were not allowed to talk to each other.

The Women' and Children' Health Care Centre has illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners for a long period of time. They sent practitioners to psychiatric hospitals, brainwashing classes and detention centres. Some practitioners were sent to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp.

Kunlun Town at Zichuan District, Zibo City

Officials from Kunlun Town illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners who had been to Beijing to appeal for long periods of time. They put those practitioners under criminal custody, sent them to brainwashing classes, or sent them to psychiatric hospitals where they injected the practitioners with large amounts of drugs that damage the central nervous system. Some practitioners' teeth have fallen out as a result of their "treatment." In addition, they charged practitioners huge fines. Some practitioners were illegally penalized 50,000 Yuan [the average monthly salary for an urban work is about 500 Yuan in China], making it very difficult for practitioners to meet their most basic expenditures.
In order to further persecute practitioners; those officials gathered a group of local riffraff, led by the director of the town administrative office, to beat practitioners with sticks, leather belts and rubber batons. Some practitioners were beaten until they lost consciousness. The thugs then poured dirty water on the practitioner' heads to revive them. They even stripped female practitioners to their underwear, insulted and beat them. Practitioners were beaten black and blue, with blood all over their bodies. In addition, the thugs placed Teacher Li' [the founder of Falun Gong] practitioners to step on it. Practitioners would not cooperate with them. They then violently beat practitioners by hitting and kicking them. Seven practitioners from this town have been illegally sentenced to prison or forced labour camps.

Saili Town in Zichuan District

The police in Saili Town illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners over a long period of time, ransacked their homes, threatened them, penalized them with huge fines, sent them to criminal detention centres, or sent them to psychiatric hospitals to be injected with dangerous drugs. They also implicated practitioners' relatives in the persecution. They tried to force practitioners to give up their cultivation practice and write the so-called "promise not to practice." When practitioners did not cooperate with them, they then found a group of local drunken thugs to violently beat the practitioners. Some practitioners were beaten until they were black and blue and bleeding all over their bodies. Some practitioners were beaten until they lost consciousness. Three practitioners were illegally sent to the forced labour camp for "re-education." Xing Baoxiao, the person who was in charge of persecuting practitioners, is now suffering from oesophageal cancer. [There is a heavenly principle that good will be rewarded and evil will receive retribution.]

The Chengnan town police illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners over a long period of time, penalized them with huge fines, put them under criminal detention, sent them to brainwashing classes, threatened them, sent them to psychiatric hospitals, implicated practitioners' relatives in the persecution and destroyed Dafa [Truthfulness-compassion-Forbearance] books. Practitioners are not released until they write the "promise not to practice Falun Gong" letter.

Luocun Town at Zichuan District

The Luocun town police illegally detained Dafa practitioners over a long period of time, especially practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police paraded practitioners through the streets, penalized them with huge fines, threatened them, violently beat them, and sent them to brainwashing classes. During the illegal detention, they even force-fed alcohol to practitioners (Falun Gong practitioners do not drink alcohol), using alcohol as strong as 60% proof and giving as much as 500 millilitres.

Hongshan Town at Zichuan District

The Hongshan town police illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners over a long period of time on many occasions. The ways used to persecute practitioners include putting them under criminal detention, ransacking their homes, penalizing with huge fines (sometimes as much as 10,000 Yuan), implicating practitioners' relatives in the persecution, sending practitioners to psychiatric hospitals to be injected with drugs. During the summer, when temperatures were as high as over 40oC (104o F), they forced practitioners to run barefoot, to pull out grass, and to squat down with their hands holding their legs for several hours. When practitioners would not cooperate with them, the police then punished practitioners by having practitioners stand up and pouring hot water on their faces. They trampled practitioners' bare feet with their leather shoes and used sticks to beat practitioners. Some practitioners were tied to a tree, and some practitioners' hands were tied onto chairs. The police even smashed practitioners' heads between two chairs. The thugs also did not allow practitioners to eat at times. Practitioners' family members who sent food to the practitioners were also beaten. They placed Teacher Li' photo on the ground and tried to force practitioners to step on it. If practitioners refused, the police violently beat them by hitting and kicking. The practitioners were beaten until they were black and blue. They also tried to force practitioners to write, "promise not to practice Falun Gong" letters. Some determined practitioners were sent to provincial brainwashing classes. Some practitioners protested by going on hunger strikes, so the evil police force-fed practitioners and then sent them to Zibo Forced Labour Camp for brainwashing.

In early February 2002, the police once again tricked practitioners into going to the station and then illegally detained them. The perpetrators also forced practitioners' relatives to write a "promise to not practice" for the practitioners. A female practitioner, whose baby is only one year old, was also illegally detained. When the baby was only several months old, she was illegally detained with her mother several times.

The Zibo Electric Porcelain Factory (Kunlun)

Since July 20, 1999, when the Jiang regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Zibo Electric Porcelain Factory has cooperated with the police to illegally put Dafa practitioners under surveillance 24 hours a day. They did not permit practitioners to contact each other. They especially unlawfully detained practitioners who had been to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong for long periods of time. They ransacked practitioners' homes, confiscated their Dafa books, and withheld their pensions. In fact, some practitioners have lost as much as 20,000 Yuan from their pensions since October 1999. They even implicated the practitioners' relatives in the persecution, stopped paying the family members' salaries, or had them fired from their jobs. They instigated practitioners' family members to beat practitioners and to send them to detention centres or brainwashing classes. Two practitioners were sent to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp for a 3-year term. One practitioner was forced to become homeless and destitute to avoid being arrested.
