As of July 20th, 2006, Falun Gong has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime for seven years. On that day, the wall opposite to the Chinese Embassy in Prague was strewn with banners and display boards exposing the facts of the persecution. Falun Gong practitioners in the Czech Republic presented an open letter to the Chinese Ambassador to call on the Chinese Communist regime to put an end to the genocide against innocent citizens. In the evening, a candle-light vigil was held in condolence of their fellow practitioners being persecuted to death in mainland China. Some mass media came to cover the activities.
Under the scorching hot sun, a Falun Gong practitioner was covered by a piece of white cloth, lying on an operating table and a surgeon in sterilised gown and cap was performing an operation on her. Many passersby could not help coming over to see what was going on.
“I could hardly believe that human’s organs were harvested without their consent. How could this be happening?” said a French journalist who had taken photos of Falun Gong practitioners some five years ago.
An elderly woman said with emotion: “If those who harvested others’ organs had known that they’ve got to repay the karma they had made, they would not have done things like that.”
After the fact that living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs were harvested in Sujiatun concentration camp was exposed by a witness in March 2006, the ex-wife of a Chinese surgeon who removed organs from Falun Gong practitioners and a veteran military doctor from Shenyang Military Zone stepped forward to testify to the allegations. The Falun Gong practitioners detained in the Shenyang concentration camp had been relocated to other places. Furthermore, the veteran military doctor mentioned that there are at least thirty six such secret concentration camps throughout China, and the military is able to relocate five thousand people locked in a closed freight train, travelling on a special route, in just one day.
Mr. David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada and renowned Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas released a report of their investigation into the allegation that the Chinese Communist regime harvested living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs.
The report indicated: “Since Falun Gong was persecuted, the number of China’s organ transplant centres and the hospitals performing organ transplants increased from forty to five hundred and the average waiting time for an organ supply in China ranges from one week to two months, while it takes several years in other countries." “That means that the source of 41,500 transplants for the six year period 2000 to 2005 is unexplained.” “All the evidence supports the conclusion that, during the persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP has, widely and on a large scale, purposefully participated in this anti-human crime. The Chinese Communist regime will never offer an explanation for the reasons behind the increases in transplants and transplant centres, because behind these two increases hides ‘a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet.’"
At the press conference beginning at 11 a.m., two practitioners read out an open letter to the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador Huo Yuzhen and other staff members of the Embassy in Czech and Chinese respectively to call on the Chinese regime to stop persecuting Falun Gong immediately.
The letter revealed: “According to the Minghui.org, as of July 19th, 2006, the highest death rate areas are Heilonjian Province, Hebei Province, Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Shandong Province, Sichuan Province, and Hubei Province. Among the 2,924 practitioners who were confirmed dead through civilian channels, female accounted for 54.45 per cent, while those who were above fifty years old made up 57.05 per cent.”
“As early as in December 2001, the China’s internal statistics showed that among the arrested Falun Gong practitioners, as many as 1,600 have died, and number of the practitioners being illegally sent to forced labour camps was over 100,000.”
“According to a statement issued by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong ("WOIPFG") on March the 20th 2003, the Chinese regime has expended one quarter of the country's financial resources to persecute Falun Gong. This funding comes from Chinese people's money that was earned with sweat and blood through hard labour, taxes, foreign investments as well as the illegal fines forcibly imposed upon Falun Gong practitioners and their family members. A great deal of the funding has been allocated to apprehend and persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China as well as establish the "610 Office" and brainwashing centres across the nation. All the mass media have been mobilised nationwide to fabricate lies to defame Falun Gong. This has caused tremendous pressure on the livelihoods of people throughout China and brought grave consequences to the nation's economic development,"
After listening to Falun Gong practitioners’open letter to the Chinese Embassy at the press conference, journalists from the Czech News Agency, Regina Radio Station and the Prague Post interviewed the practitioners. The enquiries raised by these journalists were as follows:
“What about the anti-persecution activities held by Falun Gong practitioners in Czech? “
“Have you made any progress? Did the Czech Parliament include this serious persecution of human rights into their agenda?”
“Why were the anti-persecution activities held worldwide on July 20th?”
When night was falling, Falun Gong practitioners lighted candles together to commemorate their fellow practitioners being persecuted to death in China. One practitioner told a passer-by: “The Chinese Communist regime has persecuted Falun Gong with cruel torture and violence for seven years. Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated their great tolerance and compassion with their action. They are defending justice and truth in the world. They have made it through by clarifying the truth continuously until today. History has proven that truth will eventually be upheld in the human world. The lies fabricated by the Chinese Communist regime and the fallout ensued will vanish after people realise the truth of Falun Gong. When mourning the deceased practitioners with the candle light vigil here today, we especially feel regretful that many of them are women and children.”
