A march has been planned for SUNDAY 10/03/02 by Falun Gong practitioners in the UK to raise awareness of their counterparts in China who are brutally persecuted by the communist regime. The Falun Gong principles of TRUTHFULNESS, COMPASSION and FORBEARANCE are demonstrated on a daily basis by practitioners in China who, since the brutal persecution commenced on July 20 1999, have not retaliated in any way against the government despite over 375 deaths in detention centres and institutions throughout mainland China, although inside Government sources put the real figure at over 1,600 deaths.
Over 100,000 people are in labour camps and millions have lost their jobs or places of study.
10.30 - 12 pm Falun Gong exercises and speeches opposite Chinese Embassy, Portland Place
12.00 - 2pm Peaceful march to Downing Street and delivery of petition letter to Prime Minister's Office
2.30 - 3pm Press Conference
3.00 - 6.30pm Open Air Concert and Exercises
Victims of the persecution including the five Britons who have been badly treated in China will be available for interview for the whole day. We would welcome your support on the day and any of the speakers will be happy to discuss the situation in China with representatives of the Press.
