Brutal Torture of Falun Dafa Practitioner at the Hands of Lawless Policemen

Mr. Gu Wenqi, 36 years old, was a worker of the No. 3 Smelting Factory in Huludao City's Zinc Company in Liaoning Province. The main facts of his persecution of Dafa [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] practitioners:

On October 20, 2000, policemen from police substation of Huludao City's Zinc Company forcibly took Mr. Gu Wenqi to a brainwashing class in the Xingcheng West District Sanatorium. Twenty-four practitioners were successively sent into this brainwashing class. Mr. Gu Wenqi wouldn't accept the inhuman torture at the brainwashing class and escaped. But policemen from the Zinc Company arrested him again and put him into Huludao City's Detention Centre for "administrative internment." After almost eight days in the detention centre, officers from the Zinc Company forcibly transferred him to Jinzhou Mental Hospital without notifying his family. In the mental hospital, four people tied Mr. Gu to a bed and he was forcibly given injections and drugs. They also tried to force him to write the so-called "guarantee statements" [guaranteeing never to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, will not associate with other Dafa practitioners and will give up their faith in Dafa]. When Mr. Gu asked the hospital director, "Do you ask your patients with mental diseases to write this guarantee statement?" The director had nothing to say and asked the authorities from the Zinc Company to pick up Mr. Gu. However, after policemen from the Zinc Company picked up Mr. Gu from Jinzhou Mental Hospital, they directly sent him to the Xingcheng Mental Hospital to continue to torture him, but the hospital authorities refused to admit Mr. Gu. Then the policemen had to release him back home. Two days after Mr. Gu returned to work, he was illegally detained in the Security Section of the Zinc Company. He was not allowed to go home for more than a month. They tried to force him to write the so-called "non-cultivation guarantee." As Mr. Gu refused, Cheng Zerong, director of the party committee in the Zinc Company, and Liu Yafen, director of the party committee office, were exasperated and issued an order to send Mr. Gu to the city police department for illegal detention and forced labour. After Mr. Gu was detained, officers from the Longgang District Police Department illegally sentenced Mr. Gu to three years of forced labour, and now he is still illegally detained in Huludao City's Forced Labour Camp.
