International Society Condemns the Chinese Communist Party's Crime of Organ Removal from Living Falun Gong Practitioners

The proverb, "Evil can't win over righteousness," expresses the truth of the universe. During its persecution of Falun Gong, especially when it comes to the large-scale organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) exposed its unprecedented evilness. From what we can see at this time, this inhuman act of organ removal from living people is becoming a uniting force for global action against the CCP.

On July 6th, the two members of the Canadian independent investigation team, David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, and David Matas, international human rights lawyer, published the results of their investigation concerning allegations of organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP. After the report was released, hundreds of international media outlets focused on the issue. After the shock of hearing of such unprecedented evil, people awakened. They are looking for ways to stop this crime that makes the entire human race lower their head in shame.

Human Rights Violation, Unprecedented in All of History, Demands a Global Response

Soon after the report was published, the Canadian government announced publicly that it would investigate the allegations of organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist regime. Rahim Jaffer, the chair of the Conservative Party, the incumbent party, suggested on July 13th that Canada and other countries, including America and European countries, form an international committee and demand that the CCP government open its doors to an investigation. Mr. Jaffer said, "Not only should the Canadian government take action, but we also should cooperate with other governments to solve this matter. [The investigation] must go forward under existing law, and [findings] should be taken to the international court."

Rabbi Dr. Reuven Bulka, an acclaimed scholar and author, and chairman of the Organ Donation Committee of the Kidney Foundation for Eastern Ontario, said on August 25th in the Ottawa Citizen that organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners is "a human rights breach of the worst order and demands a global response." He said, "Governments must raise their collective voices in disgust at this, and condemn it with uncompromising terms."

North America: Unite and Move from Human Rights Dialogue to Action Against the CCP

According to the latest news from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, Mike Goschka, a Michigan state senator, condemned the CCP's organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners. He said: "The practice of harvesting organs from innocent prisoners of conscience is a crime against humanity," remarking that it cannot be allowed to continue.

The two Canadian independent investigators suggested that Western society can no longer use human rights dialogue as the only method to deal with China. Although Canada hasn't yet publicly shown any action concerning this issue, one can notice that Canada's discourse with the CCP has changed. At the end of last month, Canadian Prime Minister Harper expressed during meetings with the Japanese Prime Minister, that Canada and Japan should "unite against the last communist country in the world." Such a remark catches the attention of the world. From recent action towards Chinese spies, criticism of Chinese human rights, to openly calling for isolating the CCP, we can see the changes in the attitude of Canada toward the CCP.

We can see in North America, in response to America's long-term plan for putting an end to the CCP's tyranny, that Canada has also taken the initiative and openly began to unite other countries to isolate the CCP.

Australia: Different Political Parties are Investigating Organ Removal from Living Falun Gong Practitioners

From what we have seen in Australia, this kind of cooperation not only crosses national borders, but also can join different political parties to work on a common cause. On August 18th, the Australian government and its opposition reached an agreement to support an investigation into the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation report on August 17th, 2006, opposition foreign affairs spokesman Kevin Rudd stated during an interview that he "supports the government's proposal that there should be an independent investigation. These allegations are very serious."

In July, Australian Senator Andrew Bartlett joined the "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" (CIPFG). He said during an interview that the Australian government is obligated to take more action in the face of the allegations of the CCP regime's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, and must assure that the public learns all the facts.

Europe: From Condemnation of Communist Dictatorship to Parliament Resolution

On September 7th, 2006, the European Parliament, consisting of 46 European countries, unanimously passed a resolution calling on the Chinese Communist Party to release Falun Gong practitioner Bu Dongwei, attorney Gao Zhisheng alongside other human rights defenders. Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice President of the European Parliament, said that arresting Mr. Gao is the CCP's reaction to the exposure of live organ removal and to his trip to Australia to motivate further international investigation on the issue.

Edward McMillan-Scott, made a special trip in May to Beijing to investigate the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and the allegation of the CCP's removal of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He met with two Falun Gong practitioners, Cao Dong and Niu Jinping. Mr. Cao personally witnessed holes in the body of a practitioner where his organs had been removed.

The European Parliament passed a bill on September 7 calling on European leaders not to lift the arms embargo to China before China's human rights condition has improved.

On January 25th, 2006, the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) held a meeting in Strasbourg, and passed a resolution condemning the crimes of totalitarian communist regimes.

Mr. McMillan-Scott publicly declared his membership in the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) during a rally in Hong Kong supporting the 13 million Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organisations. The rally was held on the morning of August 26th, 2006. The rally was organised by the Epoch Times newspaper and the Service Centre for Quitting the CCP in Hong Kong. Mr. McMillan-Scott also published a joint statement with members of the legislative council in Hong Kong, including Hon Chun-yan, calling on lawyers around the world to protest to their local Chinese embassies and consulates regarding the recent secret arrest and torture of renowned human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, and to urge the Chinese authorities to immediately release Mr. Gao.

On August 15th, Mr. David Howarth, a member of the British Parliament, said that the reports from the CIPFG shows that the problems are very serious and that what has been happening in China is shameful. He believes that "the UK government and all of the Western governments should demand the Chinese government to come up with explanations."

On September 4th, members of the Parliament of the six parties in Sweden made a joint declaration, asking the CCP to stop the crime of the live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The declaration stated that the initiators of the declaration requested the Swedish government to take a position with other countries in the European Union, Council of Europe, and UN to force the CCP regime to immediately allow investigation of all Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience held in prisons, labour camps, detention centres, hospitals and mental facilities. They also requested that the Swedish government help stop the crime of organ stealing in China.

The Forces of Justice are Uniting

On September 8th, two Canadian members of the investigation attended a press conference hosted by Per Clausen of Denmark, Member of the Central Board of the Red-Green Alliance, which centred around the reports on the investigation of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Clausen said: "I'm going to ask the Danish government, whether they will act on the Chinese human rights and Falun Gong issue. We have discussed often what we can do in our country. Today's meeting gave us many ideas."

Mr. Matas said: "I have been in many countries, and there are politicians in every country who responded eagerly, just like Per Clausen who is holding the meeting today. Some democracy parties provided much help. Some media and non-governmental organisations paid strong attention to the issue. I believe, wherever we go, there will be many people who will join us, and who will treat this issue seriously."

The forces of justice have been uniting and increasing, from North America to Europe and Australia; from governments to the general public, from the media to different levels of officials, from incumbent parties to opposition parties, and from one country to another. History will prove that when the dignity and basic rights of lives are in danger, human beings join hands across nationalities, races, regions, parties, beliefs and organisations, and they will stand together to eliminate the evil.
