Niu Dehui of Xinjiang Province Was Tortured to Death in a Forced Labour Camp
Mr. Niu Dehui was a 36-year-old resident of the 112 Group in Shihezi District, Xinjiang Province. He previously suffered from several illnesses, including a stomach parasite, hepatitis and others. In 1998 he was fortunate enough to learn Falun Dafa, and recovered soon after he started practising. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, and Niu Dehui went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities in January 2001. He was arrested by the police in Beijing and returned to Shihezi by police officers from the Dongye Town Police Station on October 16th. He'd only been home for an hour when he was arrested and detained at the Xiayedi Police Station. On the sixth day of the Chinese New Year, his family went to visit him, but party officials refused them, an occurrence which was repeated many times. Finally Niu's family found someone who helped them, and they were then allowed to visit him after he'd been detained for a month. When they went to the police station a few months later, someone told them, "After he was sent to Shihezi, I heard that he was sentenced to two years at the Daquangou Forced Labour Camp in Shihezi, where he was tortured to death on April 27th, 2002."
Wang Zhanjun of Hebei Province Was Persecuted to Death
Mr. Wang Zhanjun was 52 years old, and lived in Xibozhang Village, Anguo City, Hebei Province. He learned Falun Dafa in February 1996. After studying Dafa, the hepatitis he'd suffered from for more than ten years was cured. After the party started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, he was arrested and detained many times by officials of the city and village 610 Offices1 and the local police station, and paid fines totalling more than 6,000 Yuan2. His hepatitis relapsed, and he died on April 11th, 2006.

Liu Cunzhi of Guangzong County, Hebei Province Died Due to Persecution
Ms. Liu Cunzhi was a 69-year-old resident of Tangting Village, Guangzong County, Hebei Province. She suffered from many diseases, but recovered from them all after she began cultivating Falun Dafa. In June 2005, Guo Shuhua, deputy chief of the Guangzong County Police Station and Duan Yuguang of the National Security Team, arrested Liu Cunzhi's daughter, also a Dafa disciple, at her home and repeatedly threatened Liu Cunzhi. Ms. Liu was so traumatised by the persecution that she became catatonic, and she died on July 6th, 2006.
Lu Cunni of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, Died after Repeated Persecution
72-year-old Ms. Lu Cunni of Weidong District, Pingdingshan District, Henan Province learned Falun Dafa in July 1996. Afterwards she recovered from her many illnesses. In January 2001 and February 2002, she went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities on behalf of Falun Gong. After she returned home, Han Haisheng and Chen Dalu from the Weidong District 610 Office held her in a detention centre, and she was persecuted there for two months. Later she was detained in a so-called "study class", where she was forcibly brainwashed for more than a month. Because of continuous harassment by party officials, Lu Cunni died in November 2005.

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
2. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
