Practitioner Song Baogang, 38, is a resident of Zaozhuang City. Because he firmly cultivates in Dafa, the authorities ransacked his home on numerous occasions and sentenced him to two years of forced labour. They even held him for more than two years after he had completed his sentence at the Wangcun Labour Camp. In August 2005, several uniformed and plainclothes officers went to his home to arrest him once again. A neighbour challenged the plainclothes officer, as he was forcing his way into Mr. Song's home through a balcony window. Surprisingly, the officer identified himself and said he was on "official business." The actions of the police forced Mr. Song into destitution and homelessness. On September 7th, 2006, more than ten individuals arrested Mr. Song, including officer Di Hao of the Central 610 Office1 of Zaozhuang and deputy chief Yang Meng of the Guangming Street Police Station. They also arrested practitioner Gao Jiyu and ransacked his home.

Mr. Song's father suffered tremendously, both physically and emotionally, as a result of the long-term harassment, threats, and persecution that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) inflicted on his son during these years. In late August 2006, doctors admitted Mr. Song's father to the Zaozhuang Mining Bureau Hospital, although they were unable to diagnose any specific illness after a battery of tests. He died on September 17th after hearing that his son had been arrested once again.
