Germany: Introducing Falun Gong and Exposing the Persecution in Schweinfurt

On Saturday, September 23rd, 2006, we organised an information day in Schweinfurt, a town in Lower Franconia, which is located between Wuerzburg and Fulda and has 51,000 residents. This is the first activity practitioners held in Schweinfurt to expose the persecution of Falun Gong, as there are no practitioners in this town. Six practitioners from Wuerzburg and Frankfurt organised this event.

We set up our table in the town centre outside the C&A department store. Practitioners had brought with us information about organ harvesting and human rights violations in China, as well as petitions for signatures from the passers-by.

It was a beautiful and sunny late summer day. Numerous people were on the streets and many accepted our flyers gladly and also read the information detailing the persecution of Falun Gong in China, the grave human rights violations and torture, the horrible and true circumstances in China and the terrible escalation of the persecution, as well as about the organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners.

We saw a diverse group of people, also from other countries, with whom we held deep discussions. Many were rather interested and we found that the majority had not heard or heard very little about the seriousness of the crimes perpetrated in China. They were deeply shocked when listening to what we had to tell them and what they read in the printed material we distributed.

We held a long discussion about the terrible subject and the associated problems that also had spilled over into Germany and are associated with the problem of limited organ supply with a couple, executives of a dialysis and organ transplant centre. Both understood the terrible situation in China.

Two students remained for a long time in front of our information table and read through all the information. After she had signed the petition, the girl asked us if there are more flyers about organ harvesting on live Falun Gong practitioners for her to take with her. She wanted to share the information with students in her class. We gave her plenty of flyers. She said, “This is awful! I will tell my fellow students about it.”

One lady told us emphatically that she was interested in Falun Gong. She wanted to attend a speech or seminar about Falun Gong. She took with her a lot of information and said goodbye to us with a glad heart. She returned a little later, as she had forgotten to sign the petition.

We also met some Chinese people who had arrived just recently from China. They had been invited by a company in Schweinfurt to work on a project. After we told them about the resignations from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and all associated entities, they were very astonished, as they had not heard about that at all. They accepted the Chinese Epoch Times and were very grateful.

We could see again the importance of being on the streets to expose the persecution of Falun Gong to local people.
