Falun Gong Practitioner Qiu Subi from Leshan City, Sichuan Province suffered long term persecution because of her persistence in cultivating Falun Dafa. She died on November 9th, 2006.
Ms. Qiu Subi, 66, lived in the Xinan Physics Institute Compound of Nuclear Industry in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. She began practising Falun Dafa in July 1997. Later her daughter and her son (Lei Song) also started practising. Both of Lei Song's legs were paralysed due to a car accident. But after practising Dafa for just one month he was able to stand on both his feet. In November 1999, Ms. Qiu and her son Lei Song went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. They were detained for one month. After being sent home, they were forced to report to the local police station in the morning and were not released until the evening. They had to do this for over six months. The institute's local police and the security department prohibited Lei Song from having a job to earn a living, which made Ms. Qiu Subi's husband very angry. He was found to have late stage lung cancer and died in October 2000. In December 2000, Ms. Qiu and her son Lei Song went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for Dafa again. They were sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour (with custody outside of prison).
In Summer 2005, the security department head Zhang Guanghou and his followers Xie Jinlun and Zhou Yigang deceived Ms. Qiu Subi into going to the local police station with the excuse of having a talk. They then arrested her and held her at a brainwashing class in Tongjiang Town, Leshan City for over a week. From 1999 to 2006, the security department head Zhang Guanghou and the local police station have searched Ms. Qiu's home at least twelve times. She was followed wherever she went, be it at the farmer's market, while doing shopping, or just walking with family members. She suffered from long term persecution. Ms. Qiu Subi died on November 9th, 2006.
