Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaorong is being detained at the women's prison in Hebei Province. She has been steadfast against the persecution and has continued to ask for an unconditional release. It is now 11 months into her hunger strike and her weight has dropped to 55 kilogrammes. Her mental and physical health are at the limit of human endurance. Her cardiac muscle is seriously short of blood. She is very weak and in critical condition.
Ms. Liu Xiaorong, 43 years old, was a doctor in the examination division of Longhua County Hospital in Chengde City, Hebei Province. Because of Ms. Liu's belief in Falun Dafa, she has suffered many times from different forms of physical torture since July 20th, 1999. She was arrested, beaten, detained, cruelly tortured, forced to undergo brainwashing, sentenced, and forced into homelessness at times. She was also transferred from one jail to another many times.
On October 21st, 1999, Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal. She wanted to explain to the government the truth about Falun Gong, which offers great benefits to the whole country without doing any harm. However, the local public security detained her.
In May 2000, she was sentenced to prison for three years, for supposedly disturbing public order and damaging the law. She was detained in Baoding Prison in Hebei Province first, then transferred to the Shijiazhuang Second Prison
In May 2001, Liu Xiaorong did not conform to the authorities' requirements and refused to be transformed1. In the Shijiazhuang Second Prison, the guards used forced labour as an excuse to instigate four prisoners to drag her and another practitioner by their hair and hands, face down. The practitioners were dragged and kicked from the third floor to the bottom floor. Then they were dragged across several metres of a concrete road to a workshop. The prisoners used very dirty rags stained with excrement to stuff in their mouths, rendering them unable to talk. This torture occurred once every day. Ms. Liu's whole body was injured all over from beatings. Flesh and blood mixed together. Her back was all red with blood. Her flesh was torn and her clothing was shredded every day. Her blood dripped on the road. This was inhuman torture.
The authorities also tied her up with a rope, then hung a board around her neck with slanderous statements regarding Dafa and displayed her in public. The guards used an electric baton to punish her; they instigated the prisoners to beat her, they handcuffed her outside in the intense sun, and they locked her in a small room for a long period of time. All kinds of vicious methods were used to torture her. Shijiazhuang City is extremely hot during the summer. The jail cell is less than two square metres, with only a very tiny window for ventilation, and the floor is always wet. Ms. Liu was handcuffed the whole time. While bearing the hunger, prickly heat covered her body, and she suffered from mosquito bites. For more than a month she was forbidden to take a shower and change into clean clothing. She had to wear ragged clothing already full of mud, blood, and sweat. The guards and prisoners made fun of her misfortune. They humiliated and cursed her. This kind of inhuman torture lasted for three months. The authorities had used every tactic they could think of.
At the beginning of 2003, Ms. Liu went home at the completion of the three-year sentence. Her employer fired her. Her husband was influenced by the Chinese Communist Party's hatred of Falun Gong, and he irrationally held a grudge against Dafa. One day her husband got drunk and called the Public Security Bureau . Ms. Liu was pushed into a police car and taken to the bureau. She was detained with a false accusation. The bureau also extorted two thousand yuan2 from her husband. In order to prevent more unreasonable persecution, she was forced become homeless.
On the night of March 18th, 2006 , Ms. Liu was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa on the train from Beijing to Longhua City when the police on the train arrested her. Then she was detained in the Shihuiyao Detention Centre in Longhua County, Hebei Province. She went on repeated hunger strikes to protest. The police in the detention centre were very evil. Every morning around 9 o'clock, four police physically restrained her and brutally force fed her.
In May 2006, Ms. Liu was pulled and dragged by six policemen and women into a police car. They took her to Hebei Women's Jail. They put her in a vicious jail team. Ms. Liu and the other three practitioners resisted the persecution and went on hunger strikes to protest. As a result they encountered severe torture and punishment at the hands of the head of the jail and the deputy head of the jail (Zhang Yi'nu and Han)and other evil authorities and prisoners. Three times daily these people used violent means to force feed the practitioners through their noses. In order to restrict their freedom, the authorities used prisoners to closely watch them 24 hours a day.
